I would like to see if my iPhone 5 is doing the same thing. What app do I use or a screen shot to see if I have the defect. I would like a free replacement![]()
Just open up safari on a white screen.

You could just open a simple program and make a white picture the size of an iPhone wallpaper. Or, go into any app that has white at the edges. Or, download a white iPhone wallpaper. I find it stands out most on white, so no need for the green.I would like to see if my iPhone 5 is doing the same thing. What app do I use or a screen shot to see if I have the defect. Yeah it is weird. I definitely did not have this at launch. If you're in the US, I feel for ya. Consumer rights laws protect us here in the UK.Why is this happening to everyone else only now? Why have our screens been fine and suddenly everything has gone like this?
Oh my god I really want my money back now. I think every iPhone 5 carries this defect it just takes time for them to start showing it.
Just open up safari on a white screen.
My screen is white on the edges and a very light shade of pink in the center.
Can I get a free replacement? 1 year one ends in December.
Here's the screen shot I used:

You can get a free replacement, I'd recommend you take it to an Apple Store if possible. But I warn you, I got mine replaced and it just re-occured a couple months later on the replacement iPhone and I have to get another one now. Hoping that was just bad luck but I can't be totally sure just yet but I suspect every iPhone 5 carries this defect.
If so, I want my money back or Apple have a lawsuit on their hands. Cheap $30 feature phones with horrible little screens and can only text and call don't have screens defects like this.

Also what do I say to them at the apple store? My parents don't notice it but I do easily. iPhone 5 has it and my iPod touch 5 does not I noticed. My parent said it's a refurb and it is going to have other problems so they don't want me getting a replacement based off past iPhone 4S replacements experiences.
When I took my iPhone in for the same issue, the genius went ahead and just replaced the display.
Not the whole iPhone?
Yep, just the display. It was cheaper for Apple to change the display ($149.99) rather than give me a new/refurb ($229.99). Took about an hour for my phone to be ready.
I want to get a replacement battery too. What can I say to get a full replacement?
Whether you get your phone replaced or just repaired, depends on whether your Apple Store does in-store repairs or not.
Is their a way to know if they do?
This is a very widespread issue. Apple declined to comment on whether its a manufacturing defect but I suspect it's the glue used in the digitizer going bad. All the launch models I've seen is exhibiting this to a certain degree, including some refurbs I've received from Apple. If its under warranty they seem to replace it no questions asked, but it seems a bit unfair to some people if it indeed is an inherent issue Apple refuses to admit.
You should also check your camera sensors for black blotches as a lot of other users have also reported sensor burnout over time.
I would call and ask the store you go to.
I went and I they saw the issue with the pink tint. I also said that my battery was dying quickly. They said they would do a screen replacement only. They also did a diagnostic on my iPhone 5. They said the battery was in normal condition and I peeked over and it was in the middle of the top left green square of the program they use. They said they can do a screen replacement at a later time because they do not have the machine to replaced the screen. Told me to come back at a later date. I said why not do a replacement now. They said they can't because their is no reason to. Is this right?
I'm asking, what other things/ issues can i say/ make up to help get a full replacement? My battery dies faster than before but they refuse to do a replacement because of what the diagnostic said.
I would just call up AppleCare and have your Case ID escalated. Let them know what happened at the store.
Then what? Next time I go to the store their will be a note on my serial number about me getting a replacement, No questions asked?
Also thanks for helping me![]()
If all goes well over the phone, yes.
I know what to talk about but what do I say? Say what happened at the apple store? That they refused to give me a replacement? I just want things to flow correctly.
Exactly. You went to the apple store because of your iphone's screen has a pink defect but they couldn't replace it, or repair it.
It was the first day this Apple Store was opened. I hope they don't say that. I referred back to the replacement 2 times and he said "as I said before we can repair it in at a later time when the rap air machine arrives and work". Bad service at a brand new apple store. I hope it was just this guy...
Is the date they proposed within the next 14 days? If so, buy another phone, use it, and return it when you go get yours fixed. No one should have to bear with a non fully functional phone and you have every right to demand an exchange there and then if its within warranty.
