I know it's overwhelming at first, but just give it a chance. So I guess at first it's hard and yes I know I really miss Icloud but I'm keeping my iPhone so it's not like it's gone forever. I moved most of my contacts, email, calender, notes and music to google services so I'm pretty set there.

I love the screen size and camera as well as the design. It's thin, light and easy to use I love where the power button is on the side for me personally It's much easier to hit. But just play with it more and don't fill it with crap just bc u wanna customize it, just put things u know u want. Browse the play store and find a few things u may wanna download just don't go crazy haha

This is very good advice. :)

I would delete everything you don't want from the screens, then add things as you want them. Play and get used to it for a week and then add a Launcher (Nova Prime) and start with a blank canvas adding what you want bit by bit.

My initial impression for Day 1 is;

1. Too Many features that are useless
2. Laggy in a lot of places (I did enable dev settings and turned off animations)
3. Widgets are cool. I just want 3 specific widgets, Weather, Music and a Sports Feed (I have no clue how to go about this with the Sports one (Preferably NFL.com)
4. Love the screen size
5. Already miss iCloud
6. Physical design is hideous imo
7. Miss some simple gestures of the iPhone like swipe to delete text/email (can you do this on S4)?
8. Im overwhelmed with where to start to "customize" my phone

1. Yup, ites featuritis for sure.
2. Touchwiz does this, install a different launcher (Nova and Apex are great stock like lauchers) and both the useless features and a lot of lag go away.
3. Best sports one is from theScore app IMHO, really customizable and quick glance scores.
4.
5. Dropbox/google drive are you best options, though not quite the same.
6. I agree
7. It depends on the app
8. Yeah, I spent hours customizing my androids. Eventually the novelty wears off when you find something good.

Enjoy.

Thanks guys!

I'm wondering if I made a mistake and should have gotten the HTC One... I really like that BlinkFeed feature and the design, but I wanted to shy away from the integrated storage.

Hmm..

Ill give his S4 a little more time but Im wondering if I should just swap it for an HTC One...

Do what's best for you..what's the better phone is always based of your personal needs which is why HTC one is not better than the S4 for my personal needs

I am sure one month down the road you can still sell your S4 and get a One without adding a lot of cash.

So why not wait and see if a pure bug free AOSP from google edition makes it your way?

For OP: RE Bluetooth in car

I went from the Ip4 to the Galaxy S3 and also had bluetooth connection issues in my Benz. Maybe they don't like the German setup. The S3 would connect sometimes and sometimes not. One thing you might try on your bimmer is to totally delete the prior phone or phones from the car and then try to add the S4. Good luck. I went back to the IP5 from the S3. Hooks up to all my cars everytime.

I believe outdated AVRCP is to blame.

Something google REALLY needs to address.

Exactly. Give it more time with your S4, it will take a few weeks before things settle in to place...

The HTC One isn't better or worse, just different. Both have compromises - but see how you feel after a few weeks of use with the S4.
