Few days ago i caved in and bought an iPhone 6 64GB, I've just sold my 5S 32GB to which i got a very decent price for over £400.

The iPhone 6 is going back due to having problems with it freezing for no reason done this 3 times already and had to hard reset to getting working again :/ and i'll be getting a refund not exchanging it, my sister also got a iPhone 6 last week and that came out of the box with a nice scratch to the screen which is also now been returned.

Both iOS 8 and the iPhone 6 have been a total disaster for me, I've decided now I'm going back to Android.

As i now will have plenty of disposable income to spend on a new smartphone, been having alook around see what there is, i was gonna wait until the Note 4 launched in the next week or so, but decided against buying that for the moment at least, what I've gone back to is the Galaxy S5 reason being I managed to buy a brand new simfree one for £384 which is a brilliant deal for what still considered still a flagship, basically the 5S has paid for this, only downside is going back to 16GB again, but as i don't have alot of apps on Android this isn't really a problem and i have a 64GB SD card for music, video, pictures ect.

Things i miss on Android first of a notification light, god how i missed this little feature no more will i have to keep picking up my phone to have alook to see if anybody rang or left a message.

Customization & widgets, no longer will i have to put up with the same old boring screen of the iPhone i can change things to how i like again.

NFC that isn't locked down and can be used for whatever i like, not just what Apple says.

Apps that take to each other properly, so have links to dropbox ect without going though loads of hassle just to upload stuff ect.

No longer have to rely on iTunes :)

Swifkey that isn't buggy is can change things to suite me & works great plus has haptic feedback to boot aswell.

Launchers can change the launcher from touchwiz to whatever i so desire.

And finally

A stable OS that is riddle to high heaven full of bugs as is the case with iOS 8 atm.

So there you have it my little rant over and done with, I'm back on Android and so glad i've moved back it feels like freedom.

I know the feeling.
I'm going back to Android as soon as the Note 4 comes out.

My iPhone 6 has been buggy with sudden freezes where it would kick me out of an app and swift key has to be re-enabled with each reboot.

The only thing I like about the iPhone 6 is the build quality and the finger print scanner.

I think once the Note 4 hits the market properly, I think you might see one or two iPhone users thinking of switching thanks to iOS 8.

I personally don't think I'll be getting the Note 4, I'll hang on till the S6 next spring see what that brings to the table.

Do you have unlimited data? If you upload all your music to Google's servers in Google play music you can stream it on any device, it works great

No issues here with my iPhone 6 or iOS 8

The launch is NOT a disaster

You are only hearing the negatives, so it may appear like its a disaster. However there are millions who are happy with their device.

Seems to me like you weren't sold on iOS/iPhone anyways and now are using the dumbest excuses to go back to android to justify your decision.

Your problems are beyond your smartphone decision.

Have fun.

on a side note, was your sister able to easily return her device? I would imagine a week old phone with a giant scratch would be subject to either a penalty or exchange only..unless she has applecare+

You don't need iTunes any more. Not since ios5. That's a lame excuse. If u are happy with android. Go. Lots of choices

It might not be necessary for many people's needs, but iTunes is the only option for those who do want to sync via USB. I would surely use iTunes to load 20gb plus of video onto an iDevice vs the very limited and/or non reliable alternative ways of doing so.

Also iCloud is far from perfect. And many choose to sync to iTunes also just incase.

Of course you need to use iTunes!! How else do you get data in the app silos? There's no file system access in Apple's walled garden.

perhaps he has a defective unit?

iOS 8 is not freezing here on my iPhone 6. clearly something is wrong.

I have been having the same sort of issues on my one year old 5s since I upgraded. So I guess my phone all of a sudden became defective by upgrading the software on it. I had 0 issues before upgrading. Now the phone has locked up and reset itself at least 5 times since the update while using Safari.

Personally, if I had just paid $750 for a phone and it was behaving like this, I would be returning it and looking for something else as well. Especially with no option to downgrade to iOS7 until the bugs are worked out.

Yea you don't have to use iTunes. You can copy one single file at a time, when you have a hundred to copy, via a lame web interface created by the app--if you are lucky.

You need iTunes.

I had a major freeze on my iPhone 6 as well. But before that just bugs with iOS and apps. My Note 3 never resulted in a freeze that caused it to “freak” out and play dead. Had to hold down the home button and power for like 15 seconds for the phone to come back on.
I was actually eyeballing an iPhone 6 plus after returning the iPhone 6 but I’m not going to be disappointed again. Note 4 all the way. I will reevaluate next year; yet again.

Same here, my iPhone 6 (& iPhone 5 & iPad Air) with iOS 8 have never frozen -- all are buttery smooth and so far perfectly stable. I use these devices regularly with tons of apps.

Apparnetly you can create a playlist with all your music and scroll to the bottom and then hit download all. I have such a big library, I'd rather download all from my local computer than from the cloud.

I recall a number of people use the same dumbest excuses of many crashes to switch from an Android phone to an iPhone.

If you mean like music you ripped from a cd, you can get it automatically on all devices (& share with family) with iCloud or sync it.

iOS can send data to other apps as applicable. For instance, this webpage: I can share it with people around me with airdrop, send it via a message (including from a non phone device like an iPad to any smartphone as an SMS), email it, Tweet it, send it to Facebook, etc.

I returned my iPhone 6 and went back to my S5...for now.

I will be back in the iPhone camp, I'm just giving Apple and Devs more time to take advantage of what iOS8 and iPhone 6 offers.

6 Months and I am changing over. Maybe a little sooner, but no time in 2014.

The iPhone 6 Plus already looks dated, compared to other same sized 5.5" screens.

I don't see this design aging well, if it's two more years before a redesign with the iPhone 7 in 2016.

You are either referring to going through iTunes or using a specific app.

I am not talking about whatever app you are referring to. I mean needing iTunes to transfer files, whatever files a given app uses, via iTunes.

The alternative is to use the apps browser-based transfer functionality, which is usually basic and can only handle one file at a time.

There should be no need to even have to consider iTunes nowadays. It was barely acceptable in 2007 when the iPhone came out. And WiFi sync via iTunes is still using iTunes. On the one PC/mac you are allowed to is it on.

Agree, the 6+ is looking hideous, especially the white one, can't believe people are buying this...
On this photo it looks like two 2014 devices with one from 2009 in the middle
