I'd love to rock two phones but it's not a waste, for me anyway.

This is why I started looking at the Nexus 6. The S6 felt almost the same size as the iPhone 6 and I have gotten used to the bigger plus and love the real estate screen size. It's perfect, has fantastic battery life (I get a full day) and is good quality but iOS is boring for me. It's a great OS but I just want more.

Maybe I'll just order the nexus 6 and have a play around with it.

I got bored with the Plus and the size was getting a bit ridiculous for it being a device with a 5.5" screen.

I had no functionality reasons to keep the Plus. I'm very happy with my Nexus 6 and Note 4 now and will not ever consider using a Plus again.

I had the Nexus 6 when it first came out but the battery life was terrible and Google Camera was a joke. Has quality on those two items improved any? I have the 6 Plus and I love it dont get me wrong but I miss the thrill of rooting and customizing the way I want.

As far as I know the major update on 5.1 did wonders for the battery.

I just got it and have had it for 3 days and battery life is better than the things I have heard about it. I used it modestly, full brightness, wifi all day, and had 30% to spare when I put it on the charger at midnight after taking it off at 8am.

I have been pleasantly surprised by the snappyness of Lollipop and the camera isnt as bad as people make it out to be. It isnt 6+ territory but it isnt far off IMO for what I shoot.

I cant go back to the 6+ now after what this device offers from customization, speed, and beautiful screen.

Yeah I wanted to really like that device because I love stock android if I decide to run android over iOS. I am strongly debating the switch but the battery life is a huge concern for me. I will have to do some looking up since the 5.1 update has released. Do you have the 32GB or 64GB version?

I have the unlocked, white 32GB version.

I cant see an exact screen on time in the battery management or I would post it but I am like you that I was scared coming from the 6+ to this device. The 6+ battery life is tops in the business next to maybe a OPO but the hit wasnt as bad as I thought it would be for what I utilize the phone for.

We all utilize differently though so I understand.

You prefer the N6 to the 6+? Is it the customization that won you over? Or was it Lollipop or a combination of both?

Yeah I know I can get a 32gb for a good price but with me rooting and all that idk if the 32gb will be enough.

I wouldnt say prefer yet as I have had it since Friday so giving it the full run through. I am really enjoying 5.1 with my first experience on Lollipop though and amazes me how fast it is.

The customization is definitely a big preference but I also enjoy the simplicity of the 6+.

Too early to tell but I am in the process of selling my 6+ which has to show for something with how much I like the N6 I would guess. :)

Nice...have you tried different roms that are available? I miss beaing able to do that sometimes. I used to flash a ton of roms on my OPO.

I will be honest that I havent delved into that piece of Android yet but a lot of feedback here is that I am wasting potential of a Nexus device unless I root and ROM it.

I have heard battery life is optimized but other than that I am unsure if I have a need to do that with how good the phone performs for me now.

Yeah thats what I miss too honestly. I just miss being apart of the XDA community lol.

yes...that's what I was getting at. In the past with phones I could root and flash away. I know why OEMs lock their phones down and don't hold it against them. But I sure do miss being able to flash a different rom. It made it like having a different phone altogether sometimes! :)
I do like the build quality and look of the N6. When I held it my hand though it just seemed to wide for me.

If those are priorities for you (camera and battery life), stick to the Plus.

They aren't for me and I don't root either and I still prefer the Nexus 6.

Battery on my N6 (I got 5.1 update the day I got the device) has been very good for me.

Camera haven't got major complaints indeed I've taken really nice pics.

I have been getting full day battery with 6+ hour screen on time... :)

It maybe just a little less than my 6+ but as apple don't give a accurate SOT it's hard to say.

Right. Gotcha. Yeah im still strongly considering it for sure. I would go to Best Buy and buy one but they do not carry the 64gb version. Will have to get it from online. Trying to figure out if the 32gb will be enough for me.

Where do you tell the SOT time for the N6? All I see is the graph and the little line break ups at the bottom for each category

5.1 and a custom kernel I am getting like 5.5h to 6h Screen On time with my Nexus 6. Yeah its not as good as OnePlus One battery life or 6 Plus, but its still better than phones like the Galaxy S6 and One M9.

Camera IMO is really good, blows away the OnePlus One camera by a mile, and maybe a bit lesser than the iPhone 6 Plus.

I have owned all three above phones, and my Nexus 6 is the keeper of the three.
