ITT: Whiners.

You got 2+ years of use from an electronic device. The batteries aren't faulty, they're worn out. Go get them replaced instead of pissing and moaning on the internet, demanding you be catered to after over two years.

Agree, the 6 is probably at the end of its battery life.

Tom Cook and #BatteryGate is the dawn of the End for Apple.

Batterys have gates? What does a gate do for a battery?

How much memory do you have left on your iPhone 6? My daughters iPhone 5s was acting up. I put all her pictures on usb for her, she deleted all the pictures out. iPhone 5s is working fine now. I have iPhone 6 don't have any problems yet. Its only about a year that I have this phone. I update when ever they have a new update. Good luck

I have two iPhone 6 with the suddenly drop of battery to 20 -30% and I'm sure not because of wear and tear.
I have started using iPhone since iphone 4 ,4s , 5s and I have another 6s and I know is something abnormal for both the iPhone 6

Has anyoneo with a 6 with this problem tried replacing the battery regardless of how where it gets done. And does that fix the problem? Last time I went in with my 6 with this problem 2 months ago they ran their diagnostic test and they said the battery health and cycles looked good. I'm thinking maybe just get a battery from amazon and try to replace it and see if it fixes the problem?

What was the health and battery cycle count? The closest Apple Store to me is about 3 hours away and I don't want to waste my time driving for nothing.

Anything about 80% will not constitute the need for a battery replacement in Apple's eyes. If you have a Mac you can download Coconut battery and check your health. If you are above 80%, its not worth the trip because they will just say you don't need it. You can also call AppleCare and they will do a remote test and let you know if your battery needs replacing or not.

Mine is about 82% (I posted it earlier). Maybe I'll wait until February to check it again. AppleCare+ is up in March.

I may end up buying a battery pack case. It's weird actually. Yesterday I went several hours at work with just checking email every 30 minutes or so. It stayed at 100%. Today I've been using it for about an hour and I'm at 41%.

Facebook has used 6.6 hours in background the past 7 days. More in background than I use on screen! Is anyone else seeing this? It's using up my battery.

Not unusual for Facebook. Do you have location services and/or background refresh enabled? Auto-play of videos in the app?

I don't want to get off topic but I thought this sorted this. I'll check for background refresh. I don't use it enough to need it completely up to date. And ether way it refreshes when I open it.

The issue that iPhone 6 users are experiencing is not the same issue. iPhone 6 users are experiencing depleted batteries due to wear and tear. iPhone 6s users are experiencing failed batteries due to a defect. The iPhone 6 is over 2 years old now. iPhone batteries have a life span of about 18 month with normal usage, less with heavy usage. You get about 500 charge cycles before the battery is considered used. Apple does not owe iPhone 6 users anything. They used up the battery and have the ability to replace the battery for $79. iPhone 6s users on the other hand have not had the opportunity to use up the battery as it is defective and failed early. This has nothing to do with a logic board.

Additionally, its not every iPhone 6s that has this problem, only those from September/October of last year and the serial number is verified for eligibility.

My problem started around the 3-4 month mark (approximately 120 cycles). iPhone 6 Plus.

This morning I unplugged my iPhone 6 from it's charger and it showed the Red battery, i.e. no charge. I tried charging it using different cables, chargers, battery packs, and the Mac too. Each time I plugged it in, it would show the red dead battery. I could not power it up or even do a hard reset. Finally with a final plug in attempt into my Mac, the phone began to boot up. After booting up it shows 100% battery and seems to be working fine. This is the first time this particular battery issue has occurred for me. But I often do have the one where the battery charge will jump up by 30% upon being plugged in to charge.
