iPhone 6 Touchscreen Goes Crazy?

Curious if anyone has had the touchscreen on the i6 go crazy on you? The touchscreen thinks you are touching everything at once and goes nuts. Apps open by themselves, the screen scrolls up down sideways when browsing the web, and it gets non responsive. It fixes itself after a few and then at random, starts again. Turning it off/on used to work now it's constant. I already did a settings reset. It fixed the problem for about a day. It started again. It seems like I need to do a factory reset. It's sad though, never have I had any issues with my prior iPhones. And I always start fresh, I never use old backups from old models.

Is this a known issue with these models?

I haven't updated my iPhone yet, and I'm a newbie at MacRumors so I could only post replies. Could anyone tell me : is iPhone 6 worth buying? PS: I don't like the way that the camera sticks out.

for me yes it was, i also didnt like the camera and the bands on the back. but the phone is really sleek and the rounded design is nice to hold.

I am having the same exact problem with my Iphone 6 Plus 128 gig. Originally, I was having problems with the screen recognizing my touches. It would be unresponsive and I would do a reboot and then it would be fine until it happened again, a few days later. Now the phone goes crazy. I have tried to troubleshoot by turning off various network setting (WiFi, Bluetooth) thinking this would help. Finally, I put the phone into Airplane Mode and when I do the problems continue until I do a hard reboot. Then when I restart the phone everything is fine until I turn off the Airplane Mode and then the phone goes crazy again. I am going to my carrier T-Mobile today and see if they will swap out my phone.

Anyone have any solutions?

It's a defect. I had to exchange mine. I'm guessing it happens. It happened with my old iPhone 6. Ask T-Mobile for a warranty exchange, it's a $5 fee if you have insurance, if not it's $20.

Just joined this forum and seeing a few issues posted that I have experienced as well.
Yes...I have had this happen a few times, randomly over the last year. No solution here from me, but if misery loves company applies and there is value in hearing others experiences: The most bizarre example was seeing things open, selected, etc and the end result was a new email open and ready to send to a contacts it put in the "TO:" field. Crazy. Basically, the phone either opened contacts, and selected to email from the contact app, or it opened email, selected a random contact, and tried to send the email form there. Happened so fast...screens opening, closing etc. etc. It never happened after I removed the after market glass screen cover, then months later it happened again so not the screen cover causing it.

If it's less than a year old and still covered by basic Apple Care, Apple would replace it for free, the only caveat is that you have to send yours first or they put a hold on your card until they receive the old one back. (Just in case you decide to hang on to it)

Fixed this same issue on my 6 plus by placing a bit of rubber tape under the plate that secures the touch screen ribbon cables to the main board. Theory being and corraborated by others is that these connections were not getting good contact and heating up. I used a small piece of extreme tape on the back of this plate cut to fit inside the depression. Any non-stick self vulcanizing rubber tape will do. Phone is now usable again for another a penny.

I do have insurance but my real question is , How do you do this fix? I have never taken one of these apart.

You need a tool kit used in screen replacement which can be had fairly cheap. Search YouTube for a screen replacement vid. It is really simple. Then do as I described.

Mdsune, you rock! I had this issue for 2 weeks, phone was completely unusable; just stumbled on your solution. I put extreme tape as you suggested and problem solved! Thanks again!

Is it possible that this could happen after dropping the iPhone? My daughter dropped my iPhone pretty hard the other day and after that, I noticed my phone messing up. The top of the screen would dance wih a white ribbon type looking thing and it would freeze. This morning though, it started going from one screen to the next all by itself. It even face-timed someone and I could not hang up. The person ended up answering the phone and I had a conversation with them! LOL It was so weird...
 
The same is happening to my phone right now; have tried everything but prying it open and using the tape solution; it´s an i6+ and it looks like a generalized issue. was a recall or service plan ever issued for this phone?

you mean place a small square of tape like electrical tape? or something thicker like this http://www.homedepot.com/p/3M-Scotc...r-Mastic-Electrical-Tape-50727-BA-5/202195402

and you place it underneath the metal clip that holds the ribbons to the screen down. Covering pretty much the entire thing?

F f f fTrying to cancel on a phone that doesn't resond fF ff fff f ff Ff . Also has a fondness for random emoticons and sending messages with lots of ffffffs and emoticons without me pressing send. Cancel button doesn't work! Nothing does. Phone is only 8 months old. It was a $400 "brand new" replacement for a brand new fully paid for iPhone with a screen crack and what the people at Apple Store in Chatswood told me had a slight bend (I only wear dresses!) and couldn't be fixed... Since heard they charge for things they shouldn't and Apple website specifies replacement is only $100-something. And... I got a dud. Not buying Apple anything again.

Hi, do you refer to The plate below The screen, under The Touch ID button when you just open it?

Has ANYONE done this and have had success? Details? Video? etc.
 
My phone was doing this as well. The screen would lock up and then suddenly go nuts - opening apps, typing random letters, etc. It's really frustrating. I've tried hard resets, resetting and setting it up as a completely new phone - not restoring from a backup. Nothing worked. Until today. I noticed that it seemed to be worse if I unlocked the phone via the touchscreen vs. punching in my passcode. So, I went to Settings / Touch ID & Passcode and switched off "iPhone Unlock" and "iTunes & App Store". It's only been a few hours, but so far, it's acting like it should - which is a giant relief given that it was barely usable these last few days. I'll come back tomorrow with an update or sooner if it reverts back.
 
Couple days later and it's certainly better. The ghost in the machine is gone, but every once in awhile it will lock up and I can't type anything at all. I have to either wait a few seconds or close out and reopen to be able to type. Gonna get a screen repair kit and try the fix Mdsune explained.
