Yeah... Apple, we're ready for something new
AuWz1d2.jpg
Excellent side by side with dimensions!

Apple kept the 6 and 6S series identical in size to keep costs low which results in huge gross profits for the Cupertino Co. Why progress when staying stagnant makes so much money. Why offer something fresh when your buyers don't care.

Apple has their customers hoodwinked into truly believing that Apple is brilliant and knows best. Even members of this forum love to back up that mentality and argue with anyone who challenges the concept. Furthermore, Apple Executives like Jony Ive routinely appear at various intervals to brag how great Apple is, their genius designs, concepts and technology that (they allude) is industry leading and "this changes everything".

At the end of the day I do give them credit for their ability to extract vast sums of money from many, like myself. However in my case I speak out without hesitation, I don't simply fork over my cash. The laptops I buy are excellent as are peripherals and accessories. Too bad their iOS devices don't live up to that same quality, performance, and reliability level.

Yet the impact is minor since I have Google to source my wonderful primary smartphone from. My Nexus 6P is just delightful. My iPhone 6S Plus, not so much.

I'm not excepting much from Apple in terms of design. Bezels will stay. But I'm interested in seeing how much they improve the camera.

I think the iPhone 7 will look very much like the 6S but slimmer. They might get rid of both 16gb & 32gb options, and offer 64gb, 128gb, and 256gb. The 16gb and 32gb might be only for the rumored iPhone SE. Rumors of the dual camera is most likely true. They might also offer a wider range of colors. Software wise, Apple will come up with at least one feature that will have everyone talking, and they might drastically improve on 3D touch. There will most likely be a difference in hardware and/or software from the iPhone 7 vs iPhone 7 Plus.

I'm in a big debate on whether to sell my 6s plus for a note 5 or maybe wait on the s7 edge to come out and have some proper reviews

After playing with the wife's note 5, it's hard to go back to my phone. It's a very impressive device

Indeed it is but the software on Samsung is what lets it down badly. iPhone for me has far better performance which to me is the most important thing. Specs and features are simply great but it's only let down with the software and it drove me nuts on my S6 edge

I went to my local phone shop to try out the s7 edge. Whilst it is a nicely designed phone, the touchwiz still kills it for me. I really wanted to like it but the nexus 6p and iPhone 6s plus are definitely more suited to myself

I think the software on my Note 5 is what sets it apart and adds features you can't find anywhere else.
TW is fast and adds variety over stock Android which is petty features less imho. The voice control for the camera is a great feature i use everytime i take a picture. No buttons or screen to touch. Just say "shoot".

Just wondering why it bothers you that so much revenue, i.e. 75b in the last quarter, is due to phones? The people are voting with their wallets. No matter how much of this hyperbole is posted across multiple threads the universe isn't moving.

I agree. I am not sure we will see much a redesign for the IP7. I think it will be much the same as the 6s but maybe thinner as all the rumors point to that happening. I think we will see spec bumps and camera improvements and some software tweaks. They likely implement 3DT a little better across native apps. I am sure they have a software feature or two to add as well.

i could replace my iphone to galaxy on any time if only google would do something to the app privacy thing which is getting worse. until then i keep my iphone. android apps ask ridiculous rights nowadays when installing them. some are needed for sure and many devs tell why it is needed but mostly not... for example, a calculator app doesnt need to access to read my contacts etc... i havent updated many apps on my android devices because they seem to ask new unnecessary rights with updates.

so i could switch, but i wont.

I think you should look at the cellular settings on your iphone. i think you will be surprised at how many apps by default have internet access that you were never asked to authorise. At least Android is upfront and lets you know. On IOS it is enabled by default with no warnings.....

it is true that ios apps dont tell you what they do, but they have to ask permission for example to access photos/cam/location etc..

Look at me take on the iPhone 5SE crowd. They were so upset that I attacked their "beloved." Just saying there are other options that are good, but may not have the store support or software support Apple has, offends people. Apple or bust is an awful mentality.

Why not? Doing 373^3 needs to know Daniel's # to get the right calculation. If not, it might be a little off ;).
