iPhone 6(S)/Plus iPhone 6S - Restoring from Backup Stuck at Time Reamaining: estimating...

No. Friggin'. Way. How did it do that? No success on and off for a few hours, upgraded storage everything. Started reading this thread and I look over and see the backup is working.

What is this sorcery?

This Freakin Worked... It's magic....was stuck on time estimating for like 10 minutes, opened this forum and read through the first page...it jumped to 1 minute remaining...I signed up to macrumors and voila ...it's now complete....Crazzzzy

Like others, I figured, why not give it a try...as I read through the thread I glanced up a few times and my backup was still stuck at 5 seconds remaining, which it had been stuck at for over an hour. When I read the last post on the page, I looked up and miraculously it had completed the backup!!! I’m dumbfounded, and can’t wait to tell everyone I know!!!

This hasn’t worked for me yet, I’ve been stuck at “1 hour” for literally more than an hour and so I reset the phone again and it’s currently taking it’s time restoring.. I have the current running software of iOS 11 and I really need this “magic” to work for me, I only have like 2.2 gbs taken up on iCloud out of the free 5 gbs and It would really mean a lot if this magic stuff worked for me

made an account to see if there is any more magic left! reading through 18 pages was daunting but i believe! i'm trying to back up my iphone to icloud and i don't know if it's taking a long time because i have a lot of data, or because it's just stuck?? if it's the latter i'm hoping that posting this will help me out!
 
Didn't believe in all the voodoo magic, but the blue line started moving after reading a few pages. However, it got stuck at 9 minutes, then kept going up. Made it all the way to page 18, and now it's at 18 minutes... don't know if this forum is magic or not, but it definitely keeps you occupied while waiting for something or some miracle to appear on your phone screen! Hopefully posting this will increase my magic!
 
Please send some voodoo and/or good vibes my way, iCloud restore has been stuck with 136.2MB remaining for <12 hours...

I'm guessing it's something to keep you occupied. A watched pot never boils.

I've been trying to restore my iphone for the past 3 hours to no avail. I've Google'd so many different solutions, and BOOM, this thread pops up.

5 minutes later, my phone is completely restored.

It kept stocking on pretty much every step. I have set up six other simple Apple phones or ipads before. Not I am new to this. This iphone 6 plus is a pain. Tried many times to start and restart. Thinking of returning this thing out of frustration. Then as soon as I stumbled on this site. Suddenly everything went smooth. The same 1 minute remaining experience. Although I cheated and skipped right to the end. It still worked. Thanks, Apple God!
 
YEARS LATER THIS THREAD IS STILL MAGICAL!!! Two days worth of sitting here dealing with my crappy iPhone 7Plus but BOOM! Thanks magical thread!

Then the second I read the thread.....I mean the exact second after reading I looked over to my stuck phone and it finished. That's gotta be one of the weirdest things ever. Thanks I guess!

HOLY SMOKES this is INSANE!
my phone has been broken for months..won’t charge, won’t connect to internet..the thing is shattered! but i tried giving it a chance so i started googling ways to get it to charge or work or connect and i came across this thread and started reading and my phone turns back on out of freaking nowhere and then connects to wifi and completes a backup in less than an hour! i’m so happy i got all of my old stuff back i thought i lost!!!!!
 
Will keep short for those still reading.

Numerous restores from iCloud back-up either got stuck at time remaining or randomly got to 1 minute remaining and then would stop with either a Cannot Restore Backup or iPhone lost internet and can't restore message.

Around page 7, went from time remaining:estimating to 20 hours remaining. By page 8 it was down to minutes. Finished restore by page 9.

No this is not a hoax of other people who got trolled, just passing on the troll. Yes, I did go and check the last page first just in case of that.

Somethings you just have to see to believe. I saw that Apple, now I'm a believer.
 
Magic still works! Haven't been able get the backup to start for an hour. After opening this thread.... 10 minutes remaining :)
