I was told by Apple Support that anything ordered through Apple is Unlocked even if you order under one of the carrier plans like AT&T Next. We will see if that's true but it's what they told me. Ordering directly from carrier, however, I know AT&T's are locked and I believe Verizon as well. Don't know anything about T-Mobile direct. Again, going through Apple seems best.
 
I have a third order for a 128GB jet black 7Plus that I placed First (before my Matte Black and Silver ones). Shipping estimate is still 9/26, but it just changed to preparing for shipment!!! However, I'm not sure if I even want the jet black anymore. Early reviews say it is super smudgy, and I think that would drive me crazier than its worth. We'll see, though. I'm glad I'm getting both to compare and make a decision.
 
With my wife's name being on the account and on the address, will I be able to pick up the phone if I have it held at the local ups hub?

I know that if you get it directly from T-Mobile, the phone will be locked. If you pay full price, you can request the unlock.

Good to hear. Think I ordered around 3:20 after trying to get in to both the site and the app. Still processing on my end.

Hopefully a miracle happens and it comes tomorrow or Saturday. Going out of town until Wednesday next week and I just know that thing is going to be sitting at my house waiting on me.

Just hold on...it may change shortly. We have the same carrier and configuration and mine changed today to Preparing for Shipment about an hour or so ago.
 
Mine headed to seattle area 9/15 2:53 pm, 11:53 pst. I am beginning to believe they will meet their commitment.

If we start seeing that they are shipping from China, it will be monday probably before we get them. I will be interested to see if maybe they ship from somewhere here in the states. I think those of you that have later shipping dates might get yours a bit earlier too, but of course things could change.

Had original delivery of 9/27-9/29.

Just charged within the past 5 mins, delivery moved up a day to 9/26-9/28. If I'm being charged now I don't see it taking that long to delivery...right?

(ordered 3:36est, 7+ 128gb silver, at&t)

I got an email this morning from Apple that my order had shipped. Not sure about texts. Did you check email?
