Nope, AppleCare+ is going to be my case. I plan on upgrading next year too, so it not as crucial that i keep it in pristine condition.

Everyone who has held the Jet Black has said it is much LESS slippery than the other models. In fact, John Gruber said the Jet Black is the least slippery iPhone Apple has ever made.

I got the Jet Black for precisely this reason. I hate using cases, but the other anodized aluminum models were always so slippery. Now I can have an iPhone that I can grip!
I have every iPhone and have dropped every iPhone case all the way for me

I like to have a battery case that will easily go on and off so I basically go without. The finish gets scratched either way and I've read recently that even cases don't guarantee the device won't suffer from "touch disease". My first 6 was replaced after 9 months bc of this but the replacement is going strong...so far. I was going I keep my 6 as a backup but going to trade it in to avoid frustration when it gets touch disease.

I would enjoy it more unprotected.

I have a Midnight Blue (Navy?) Apple Leather case waiting for a phone... have both JB and MB on order as I'm still very unsure about the color, I finally saw a JB and loved it but don't love some of the pictures I've seen of scratches.

I love the way the leather ages (except the product red) and I wanted to try the Sea Blue but I haven't seen any photos of how it ages and I wanted a change from my Saddle Brown which has turned out gorgeous.

And yes I'm aware I won't see most of the JB but I'll see the screen wrap into the bottom of the body where the chargers are exposed... Also as someone who can be a little clumsy plugging it in at night are the fears of scratches from the lightning plug over blown or real?

I blindly jam the lightning cable in to the phone at night. :) Caseless since launch day, a few tiny marks at the very bottom of the back. I need to wipe it down and put it in very specific angles in the light to be able to see them. The rest of it is pristine. The grippiness is not exaggerated.

Thanks! I must admit I'm nervous about scratches. Although luckily I guess the shipping is so slow on them that I can see how demo units fare over the next week or so in stores. I imagine that's a years worth of usage in a few days haha and people who care little for the phone. The one I saw Sunday showed no signs of marking but I didn't know how long it had been out for. Now at least I know roughly when.

For me the positives outweigh the negatives by a good margin. But I'm not looking to resell my phone after a year, either.
