Is the T-Mobile site still down for you guys? I checked the app and it's still processing. I feel like it's still going to be processing even when it delivers. Ugh!
They do it because it makes great free PR.. Have u seen AAPL stock $ the last few days? Wait till next year. Rinse. Repeat.Exactly! And also, this isn't Apple's first rodeo. They knew/know exactly what they are doing. Successfully created headlines that read "IPhone Plus sells out Worldwide!"
tmo site back up, nothing awesome... at all.
I obviously undervalued my choice. I guess I should've paid more attention. That was one of the iterations I thought WOULD be hardest to get.
It's a Plus model = more attractive due to the better camera.
It's black = people like me frothing at the mouth for a black iPhone after one not being available for a few years.
It was the "free" one with TMO's trade in promo--no down payment required.
Your origin scan time will depend on your location. Here is the tracking history from my note 7 orders last month. I live 4 hours away from Louisville, so my origin scan can literally be the same day (or in the example 3 minutes shy of that).

Well, now you see I live in South Bend, IN. GO IRISH!!!!
So an update and word of warning for some of you: make sure your trade in has been processed! Yesterday I got a text message from tmo so I called and it turns out when I ordered the rep didn't actually go through the trade in process. If I hadn't known this I may have had to pay for the new 7's I ordered and not been able to trade in my old 6's.
If it was done properly, your account on MyTmo should should both your order for the new phone and also a separate section with your trade in along with a pre-paid label link. When I ordered the rep told me about this but didn't actually complete the trade in part.
Anyhow, my credit has been charged for 1 of my 2 7+'s, I think it's the black 128 gb I'm getting. Haven't been charged for teh gold 128 even though I ordered them at the same time.
I would have never imagined the 7+ matte black 32 gb being one of the hardest phones to get.
Update 2:
Tracking on my matte black iPhone 7 128 GB now has an Origin Scan with a time stamp of 10:02am at Louisville, KY.
Gold iPhone 7 128 GB for my wife is still showing as "Order Processed: Ready for UPS" but I expect to see that change by this evening at the latest as the updates on it have lagged since it was ordered in sequence after the order for the matte black phone was completed.
Update:
I didn't note this in the timeline I provided in my initial post (quoted below), but I got a free T-Mobile text on Sunday at about 9:45 am saying that my order has processed and I got a UPS tracking number with it.
Then today at about noon, I got the exact same text again and for the same tracking number. I don't know why I got the same text with that tracking number again, but my guess is something must've happened to trigger the text.
While I'm not sure what it means, I figure that hopefully either someone might know or at least be interested in knowing how this whole deal is progressing for others.
Just joined because I stumbled upon this iPhone 7 preorder thread and I thought I'd add some info to provide more data points for people.
I woke up early to preorder last week. Had issues with the website for ~20 mins before I decided to just call support. Waited on hold for about ~30 mins and got through to a very energetic and helpful T-Mobile representative and ordered two phones to be paid via EIP:
Phone orders were processed one at a time and EIP agreements were sent very shortly after the orders were placed, about 5-10 minutes. I signed the agreements immediately after I got the emails for them.
- A black iPhone 7 128 GB for me
- A gold iPhone 7 128 GB for my wife
From there (all times are Central time)...
9/11 @ 8:45am - Received tracking number for black iPhone
9/11 @ 11:39pm - Payment processed email received from T-Mobile for black iPhone
9/12 @ 5:06am - Received tracking number for gold iPhone
9/12 @ 11:37pm - Payment processed email received from T-Mobile for Gold iPhone
9/12 - First payment posts (no longer pending) on credit card statement
9/13 - Second payment posts on credit card statement
9/14 - 7:08am - Both UPS tracking numbers just show "Order Processed: Ready for UPS" on UPS's website. First order's shipping label shows as being created on 9/10 and the second order's on 9/12.
I imagine I should see movement tomorrow! Though I certainly wouldn't complain if something happened today, haha.
iPhone 7 32GB matte black. Ordered officially processed around 4:30am PST (even though I called right at midnight) on 9/9 on JOD.
Origin scan finally came in at 10:46am in KY!

Well, now you see I live in South Bend, IN. GO IRISH!!!!
ordered TM online Sat 9/10 @8pm EIP. Will be trading in my 6s for free 7.When did you order and what time? Was it EIP, JOD, or outright?
They won't deliver it without charging you for it right? So if you haven't been charged you're stuck just like me.Is the T-Mobile site still down for you guys? I checked the app and it's still processing. I feel like it's still going to be processing even when it delivers. Ugh!
Well my JOD didn't cost anything up front or taxes so it won't charge me until my monthly payment for the phone..They won't deliver it without charging you for it right? So if you haven't been charged you're stuck just like me.
Yeah, what with all of us throwing ourselves in front of the delivery trucks to snatch our preorders early.UPS drivers are not looking forward to tomorrow. Gonna be a long day for them.
I just want to remind everyone that if you plan on cancalling your pre-order & walking in tomorrow to try and get your model, you'll need to be on T-Mobile One to get it for free.
Ah i see, did you trade in your iphone 6 or 6s? is that why it was free for you?Well my JOD didn't cost anything up front or taxes so it won't charge me until my monthly payment for the phone..
