I wasn't happy with neither my X or the 8, which prompted me to downgrade to the SE. Perfect little phone for all my needs.
So now we are being introspective and the success of a company is based on timing? First Apple is an innovator that other companies follow, and now according to your philosophy Apple is a master of timing irrespective of their product releases...
Please just stop. Your zen philosophy seems disingenuous to me.
I wasn't happy with neither my X or the 8, which prompted me to downgrade to the SE. Perfect little phone for all my needs.
The iPhone SE, 8, 8+, and X all have their place and fans. I like the fact that there are more options now for buyers, rather than having just one iPhone model with just different storage capacities and add on specs.
Iphone8 slippiest phone I've ever owned.
Nice mobile though, amazing screen quality.
No late 2018 or early 2019 upgrades required.
Personally I think the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are going to be big sellers this year too just like the 7 was when the X and 8 were released last year. There are some cracking deals already on the 8 and my wife managed to get a contract yesterday for £23 p/m!
Asking around my office I sense the iPhone 8 will be the popular upgrade too. None of my colleagues particularly follow any tech news and when I’ve said about the 6.1” LCD the response has been a reluctance to lose the home button. I think a lot of consumers fear change and familiarity is a big pull for some. It’s a good job Apple offers a choice and no longer forces just one design on us as tastes have matured rather than a demand for constant ground breaking features like we saw a few years ago.
I can upgrade from next month so am hoping to pick up an iPhone 8 on a cheap contract. My 6S is suffering dreadful battery drain and has let me down too many times in the last 3 weeks.
The battery was good until the last update so I know the sudden drain is software related. The battery health in settings is showing 83% so it’s above the recommended level for replacement. I’ve never had to replace a phone battery during the course of a contract and to be honest I’d feel a bit short changed having to do so now. If the battery cannot last two years then I’d be inclined to complain to the consumer ombudsman if Apple wouldn’t replace the battery for free. As I’m not keeping it long term i’ll let the next person worry about that lol.Have you considered having the battery replaced with your 6s due to the throttling issue? Its $29.00. It would at least add some longevity or even help with the resale being the battery would be new, depending of course if you decide to sell or trade in.
This might sound silly, but I actually miss the smaller size of the iPhone SE! I currently have an iPhone 8 plus, and while I love it for everyday use, I do miss being able to use my phone in one hand. I also find it a bit to bulky to carry around.
If an iPhone SE 2 was released, I would strongly consider it.
I Think the iPhone SE is affordable enough where I see others who purchase it and use it as a back up phone if they feel like downsizing from a larger phone to a smaller phone, which I have done so in the past myself. There are times you just don’t _want_ to carry a larger phone around like the iPhone X or iPhone Plus model, where the SE just is that much less obtrusive and you don’t need to have all the latest technology, but you can certainly switch back to the larger phone with the SIM card.
I'm glad I recently learned about this. My airpods were really having issues but when I did this they started working perfectly again.I am since I reset my network settings the other day.
I had a really irritating bug that randomly stopped my turning Wi-fi on or off, now-no complaints.
This will be the first time in my life I keep a phone more than 12 months. 8+ will hold me over until 5g support is here.
Exactly the same for me.I love my 8 Plus, have had absolutely no issues with it. I am, however, very tempted to go for the 2018 flagship and keep that for quite a few years (as was my intention with the 8 Plus too)
I have to agree. I used a 4s with no case for nearly two years with almost no noticeable scratches. My 8 is covered in hairline marks that are only really visible under bright lights. The screen scratches: for a phone with the "toughest" ever glass, it sure is fragile! I've always kept my phones completely naked since the first iPhone, and never had an issue with scratches. Phone stays in my pocket, with nothing else. I had 2 light, but very noticeable, scratches within 2 weeks of buying the 8. ugh.
