I have an 8 but I am hoping someone does a OLED/LCD screen comparison between the XS and the XR. Don't really care about the extra bells and whistles the XS has other than the OLED screen.

I have the 8+. My wife has the X. Her screen is slightly better but not mind-blowing. Looks closer to surface. Xr screen lower resolution than 8+.

Got 8+ Red when it was released. Love the phone. Was thinking of upgrading, but Apple decided for me.

Even though I can afford to pay for it upfront, not going to happen.

Keeping my 8 Plus, which is what I expected to do all along. In my opinion it’s almost never worth it to upgrade in just one year, and this year in particular is pretty unimpressive to me. I probably wouldn’t upgrade even from a 7 or 7 Plus.

Hanging on to my 8+.

Surprised to see some votes for Xr - it's a downgrade in terms of camera, display and 3D touch - and apart from the design I don't see what one is getting in return. Am I missing something?
Maybe some of us realize we don't need ALL the bells and whistles. Honestly I rarely use my telephoto lens, and I honestly don't think I am going to notice the resolution all that much.

I will see what kind of deal Tmobile will give me Friday on the Xs and if it's decent I will get that, otherwise I am perfectly fine waiting for the Xr

Similar size screen to the 8+ in a slightly smaller footprint, better battery life, processor upgrade, storage upgrade (at least for me). The camera would be the biggest loss for me

My 8+ is still going strong. 99% battery capacity. Everything works as supposed to. Won the screen lottery big time on this one. It's basically as new and performance is fantastic. There’s nothing about the Max that makes me want to throw that amount of money at it at this stage, not to mention the anxiety of playing the screen lottery or going through exchanges because quality control didn't do their job. Plenty of other “toys” in the same price range I can throw my money at that'll bring me more joy.

I do love my 8+ and this would be the first time I ever upgrade a year into owning an iphone. I always aim to get the most out and then enjoy upgrading 2 years on and it feeling like a substantial jump. But I fancy the Max. OLED and bigger screen - these are the big reasons. For me it's a vanity thing if I'm honest. Do I really need to upgrade? Probably not. The 8+ is still a monster. I wont pre-order though. I will wait and let it all sink in and make a rational decision.

It will come down to monthly cost and whether I can truly justify it.

Got a feeling I'll find a way, lol.

8+ going to XS Max. That’s what the IUP is for. :D

And usage point, if anyone cares. I think we (many) thought the ‘S’ was ‘s’ for years and years. Well, it was just in a box (see the Apple website).

The ‘R’ is obviously an uppercase ‘R’ so all those 6s’s etc. were actually 6S’s. Lol!

Edit: I guess not. Apple calls it the Xs and XR in emails. Good grief. :D

A12 processor. Larger display. Lighter in weight. Stereo recording on videos. Front camera upgraded.

Wife and I aren’t letting go of our 8 Plus (or iPad Pro) until Face ID reaches parity with Touch ID. As of today it is slower, less reliable and does not support landscape unlock. This is coming from first hand experience of a family member who has a X

My 8+ is paid off .Thinking about buying the following:

1. 6.9" Mi max 3 - 5500mah. 128/6gb $360
2. 6.4" Oneplus 6T for $669 (biggest storage)

$1029 total for a phone that doubles as a small tablet and the most powerful Android out. All for less than a 64gb Max lol.
