I have an 8 plus coming from a 7 Plus. I'm glad I upgraded. The sound is better. Glass back adds grip and I don't have to use a case now. The camera is better in low light. Wireless charging to me is a great convenience when charging in the car. I don't regret upgrading one bit.

Exactly and throw in 4K @ 60 FPS, slow sync flash, True Tone, makes it a worthy upgrade to some (including me). The glass does make the 8 Plus easier to hold than the 7 Plusn

I actually have to turn in my device or keep it. I like the Note 8, but I know I’m going to miss the simple basic functions of the iPhone... especially after having it for 4 years.

While I agree what a phone is worth is always up to the individual, I struggle to find where the iPhone 8 Plus is worth minimum $500 more than an iPhone 7 Plus. It is still tempting for the camera improvements and wireless charging...;)

My 6s has battery issues where it drains rapidly. Other wise the phone is just fine. That and I can't send certain videos but that could be due to a long chat thread....

I was forced to upgrade as my 7+ was stolen. A couple things worth the upgrade are: the camera, and the larger storage capacity.
I do shoot plenty of pictures and videos, the new portrait pictures are way better with the 8+.
More picture and videos will be taken, therefore lager storage needed.
Having the last model with TouchID and the Home Button will last longer. You can alaways find a way to pay over time with zero interest.
The X is not appealing enough for me: Facial ID and the weird notch and forced screen crippled display is the most notorious example of mishaps from Apple nowadays. They need to get back to basics and keep it simple and practical as we were used to.
Just because it’s popular and iPhone X sounds cool doesn’t mean it is a better design.

There’s hardly any difference in camera quality between the 8 plus and X, why’s one worthless and the other one is worthy?
Theres plenty more than just camera differences in the X that justify the small bump in price from an already basically 900$ phone

I returned my 7+ due to some issues with the camera’s math and my kid’s skin tone. Went back to the 6S+.

Now have 8+ and happy. So far my 8+ camera is hanging in there with my wife’s X.

The whole point of this thread was to compare the camera between the 2 models.

I honestly believe beginning with the iPhone 6S and the A9 processor, the iPhones have become powerful enough to where they will legitimately last years without slowing down...assuming Apple doesn’t handicap with buggy software. My 7 Plus is super quick, smooth, and lag free now. It has its hiccups here and there, but becuser the overall performance is so good still, I’ve decided to hold off upgrading for now.

Although I have a 6 month old and 3 year old, and both my wife and I are into photography, so I would love to use the new Portrait Lighting features on the 8 Plus/X. I go back and forth as to what I would upgrade to, but I think I’m actually leaning more towards the 8 Plus assuming I do anything. Maybe I’m an odd ball but I think the 7 Plus/8 Plus are beautiful devices. I know they have larger bezels, but they are some of the best looking smartphones out.

I placed an order to upgrade last night with my carrier... With loyalty discounts and Black Friday, I'm moving from a iPhone 7 Plus 256g to an iPhone 8 Plus 256g for $140 and agreeing to stay with them for another 2 years since I wasn't on contract anymore... Decent deal... I played with the iPhone X at the Apple Store and just couldn't go down in screen size nor will I be a guinea pig for first year technology... When they offer the iPhone X Plus next year, I'll upgrade then...

That's a good move. Probably how I would've done it also.
I recently switched to the Note 8, I'm getting use to it but I'm missing my iPhone.

I tried Android for a year before moving to the iPhone 7 Plus... prior to that I had always used a BlackBerry... I ended up really disliking Android a lot once I spent some time with iOS... Simple, easy and just works... That and my entire family is in the Apple ecosystem... No brainer!

Thing for me is I only use facetime and it is not often. I do understand that its Simple easy and just works. I have been using apple for 4 years though so its tough. I don't use I cloud or sync but I miss the Simple interface most. That and I already have the apple watch plus in retrospect a phone is just a phone.
[doublepost=1511627674][/doublepost]That being said the note is overkill. Great device and I may actually stick with it but... just miss the iPhone and the ease of use and simple nature but that what makes it so boring.
