iPhone X for the best dual-OIS'ed cameras and the luxury to use your face for Animoji and Scene Clips. Not to mention the form factor all this get's packed in.

Do you want a larger screen? Get the 8 Plus. Do you want a better screen? Get the iPhone X. I want both, so I'm waiting for next year's model. ;)

Thanks do you think a iPhone 6s Plus is enough to hold me out until next year ?

Say Hello To Future = i would go with X

I’m literally flip-flopping every day!

Today I’m leaning towards the 8 Plus. Internally it’s the same phone. Aside from animojis and a few camera enhancements that mean nothing to someone like me who just takes pictures for Facebook, the X does nothing that the 8 Plus doesn’t also do, and I’m really not sold on giving up a home button and TouchID for swipe gestures and FaceID.

The only thing that keeps me coming back to wanting the X is the more portable formfactor. Even the OLED display doesn’t matter that much to me, because I’ve never had one. Can’t miss what I’ve never had.

Why pay hundreds of dollars more for something I’m not sure about with features I’m not sure I need or want?

However, ask me tomorrow and I will have the exact opposite opinion. I’ve seriously changed my mind about a dozen times since the keynote!

Just changed my battery on my 6S+ Wiped everything set up as new downloaded 11.02 runs like a champ. Save the 1000 bucks for a trip and see what Apple has in store next year.

Just my suggestion, but you could try the iPhone 8 and take advantage of the 14 day return policy to see if you like it or not. And if you don't, then you can return it and return back to your previous iPhone, and wait for the iPhone X whenever you're available to pre-order it. I think it would at least help determine if you would appreciate the upgrade from your iPhone 6 to the iPhone 8, because you are already aware of the current form factor. Its a matter of the functionalities on board with the iPhone 8.

However, if you really are looking forward to a newer form factor, then that likely might be the iPhone X and of course the features attached.

I personally would get the 8+, I'm a heavy user so I's get burn in pretty fast with my usage, like within a year. Not only that OLED generally uses more power on white backgrounds like surfing the web vs LCDs as all 3 subpixels are active to create white. Also that notch bothers me, it wouldn't if they put black backgrounds near the clock/WiFi area but they made it pronounced in use. Overall if you have a 6S I'd wait one more year, at least by then hopefully the cellular modems will be full featured and not gimped due to Intel not being as advanced as Qualcomm, plus the 600Mhz cellular band of T-Mobile and other carriers will probably be added by then, which is good for indoor reception. I convinced someone else recently to hold on to their 6 till next year lol, for hopefully better modems like the competition. Overall the 8+ is still pretty good though in terms of improvements.

The X is iPhone’s 10.5 iPad. The in between size thats supposed to give the majority of users what they want in a form factor.
Too tall for easy one-hand use, but not wide enough to excel as an iPad-replacement phablet for watching movies, making it a form factor that is ideal for neither.

All depends on how you look at it...

Got the 8+, 256GB.

I’m personally not considering the iPhone X for myself because I don’t find it appealing.

Though I’m considering getting the iPhone X 64GB for my wife as a 10 year anniversary gift. Would have a fun double meaning.

Definitely. I will upgrade to the X from my 6 Plus this year but I could comfortably wait a year more if I had the 6s Plus.

I got the 8+ and am very happy. I am sure the X will be nice but did not feel like I wanted to join then ordering rat race and waiting possibly till next year. If the phone works as advertised, I can always pick one up next year. There is no hurry this time.

Really enjoying the finger ID. I think I would miss it. Most of all I got to have dependability.

I am figuring out the same thing. I am using an iPhone 5s now so both options would be a nice upgrade.

I was planning to get the X but the delivery time (early 2018 if I don’t get one of the first batch) would mean the X will be passed with new/better technology (improved face recognition) within a half year or so. That in combination with no touch-ID makes me reconsider.

Anyway, I realise this is a luxury problem :)

If you are coming from a 6S, I wouldn't upgrade to the 8 Plus. It's not much of an upgrade. If you like the X, that is your best phone choice on the iOS side right now. If you can wait, that's an option too.

es, my iPhone 6s Plus is still running fine on iOS 10. Don't plan on updating to 11, but I'm sure it would run that fine as well.
Eh...my 6s Plus hasn't been so fine on iOS 11.

A 6s Plus is a fine phone to hold onto for another year, though. I don't want to hold onto mine for much longer, though, because the battery can only charge to 70% of its original capacity and I don't want to put more money into this particular phone.
