I think that's odd? I'm surprised that the RAM chips' weights would be noticeably different, but I'll obviously take your word for it.

I doubt it. Chalk it up to guesstimation error.

There's no difference in weight between a 64GB Toshiba NAND and a 256GB Hynix NAND chip.

The "Weight varies by configuration and manufacturing process" note makes sense only for Mac where there are HDD and SSD configs.

So why would Apple insert this footnote?? I'm no expert and I am not saying it is definitely the increased RAM chips. Someone else said that in the thread I posted on it. There is a noticeable difference between a sliver 64 and a 256 space gray X. I have no idea (nor do I care) what the difference is in the "configuration and manufacturing process". They are both ATT phones. In my thread, I noted that I was not the one to notice. My girlfriend had been checking mine (SG256) since November 3rd. When her silver 64 arrived a week ago and she unboxed it, she immediately said, it doesn't feel as heavy as yours. I, like most of you guys, thought she was crazy. We compared them in hand numerous times and I agree, mine is noticeably heavier. Call it guesstimation, but it's no error. Maybe I will find a pot scale and check it out.

It's boilerplate language for all their products. It allows for variation between different battery or display suppliers.
A couple grams difference, perhaps. But noticeably lighter? Probably not.

HEAVY!
Really?

Yeah, its HEAVY compared to my SE. Its 54% heavier. 113 grams for the SE VS 174 grams for the X...To me, that's a lot. But that's why they make different models.

I predicted this a while back like a few others but in my country it seems new smartphones in general have suffered a huge decline in demand. The iPhone 8 is as popular as any other model because where I’m from no particular model is as popular as previous iterations.

Dixons Carphone profits fall on weak demand for mobileshttp://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-42336179

Carphone Warehouse is the biggest mobile retailer in the country and for the second quarter has posted a huge fall in sales. People are shunning expensive flagships and keeping phones longer or buying older models. The market is so saturated as modern smartphones are offering less and less new exciting features to tempt consumers to spend and prices are higher than ever.

I think the era of £1k+ smartphones will be pretty brief. A 60% fall in sales hurts every manufacturer and this trend is apparently significant across Western Europe too. It’ll ultimately be good for us though in the long run.

Gosh, I just paged through 5 or 6 pages searching if the iPhone 8 has any decent threads or reviews, and realized it is by far the least popular model with hardly any information. I'm sure there may have been a few threads, but the iPhone X dominates here...

Are those who own the 8, are you happy with it?
I think when the 8 came out there were lots of threads about it. The x came out later and is the current phone so it’s natural for people to be talking about it more.

I love my 8 Plus. The bigger screen and landscape mode are my favorite features. I don't care about face id or oled or any of that stuff on the X.

I’ve never used landscape mode on any of my Plus phones except for when I’m watching videos. However I will miss the real estate when my x arrives.

I have’ve had a 7 for a while and just bought an X last week. I’m still debating whether to keep 7, upgrade to C or even 8. 7 has a perfect size, I’m still able to use with one hand. To me, the weaknesses of 7/8 are short battery life and camera not as good as plus/X. I feel Face ID as good as Touch ID.

I once used a Plus size iPhone (6 plus) but I couldn’t feel comfortable with the physical size of it. It didn’t fit in the front pocket of my jeans. I would say if you are okay with having one camera in the back and shorter battery life, 8 would be a great iPhone, very easy to handle with it’s smaller size and light weight.
