If iPhones would run on Android you would have a point, but they don't so 3GB is more than enough (hell even the 2GB in the iPhone 7 isn't any problem).

My 6s Plus never even struggled on 2 GB of Ram. The only phone that I found problematic was the iPhone 6 with one GB of Ram.

I agree. iPhone 6 was only iPhone I've ever sold after a few months because my 5S was equal or better in performance and offered a more satisfying experience. The 6S was a wonderful phone and I still have it as backup to my X.
