I got an iPhone 8 a month ago. Bear in mind it’s my first smartphone, although I’ve been a Mac and iPad user for almost 10 years.

Generally happy with the iPhone 8, build quality excellent, display colours look great, camera good, speed good, and price locally was very reasonable. I reluctantly got a case for it, I don’t like cases, but the glass back makes the phone easily dropped.

My only concern is the battery life is not great, however as I’m a very minimal phone user the small battery is not a problem personally. I made some adjustments to get the best battery life, and always use low power mode. When the battery drops to 20% I charge to 80%, trying to keep the battery healthy.

Update: I managed to snag a used iPhone X for the equivalent of 500 USD, newly replaced by Apple under AC+ from the previous owner. I'm absolutely loving the size of this thing. Also 3gb RAM on the X should last me a little longer too.

My wife traded here 8 for an 11 because she wanted a better camera. Aside from that the 8 is a great phone and the form factor is very nice.

Edit : Just saw you got an X, enjoy !
