so then what difference between air 2 and base iphone 18????
The Air 2 will have the A20 Pro processor and 12GB RAM, have improved battery providing longer battery charge in-between current Air levels and retain the ultra thin and light profile of the Air. It is also supposed to also include the vapor chamber found in the Pro series iPhones.

The iPhone 18 won't have 12GB RAM or the A20 Pro processor and will be bulkier than the Air.

so the cameras will be the same as iphone 18 then ? does that mean the price will be higher than iphone 18?

The Air will be more expensive than the 18, yes . . . just like the current Air is more expensive than the 17. I have no issues with this because I also have the 17 Pro to use if I need better iPhone cameras and if I require a better camera setup than what my iPhones can provide I have my Nikon D850 camera kit to use for better professional quality pictures.

Personally, the camera on iPhones don't matter much to me as I already have a means to take better quality pictures. I use my iPhone cameras, no matter the model, as a "point and shoot" camera of opportunity. Nothing more for my requirements.

Since launch day, I have enjoyed using my Air because of the added RAM and Pro level processor as well as it's very thin and light profile. I have not experienced any battery anxiety that some users have posted. Not an issue for me as I am always around a charging source and not too concerned with "having to plug in" my Air to recharge it. I just get on with my day and if I have to use a battery pack, it's not the end of the world for me as it seems to be for others.

Like the 13 mini, I have been enjoying using my Air for what it is . . . an exceptionally well engineered iPhone. That's my take on things.

I stopped using "contracts" to get new iPhones going forward. I pay outright for all my devices and am done not having to pay out monthly payments so I have the luxury of choosing which devices I would like to add to my iPhone collection while using them for a little bit.

With all the iPhones I have available in my private iPhone collection, I find myself cycling between a few iPhones and currently have resumed using my Air with my 15 Pro as my iPhones of choice while using my Green 256GB 13 mini as a backup iPhone.

I use my 13 mini to access my installed dash cameras when driving and also use this device to access my inground sprinkler system and home security cameras while leaving my Air or 15 Pro, depending on which iPhone I happen to be using as my main iPhone for the week, to access normal phone functions and CarPlay/iTunes music streaming while driving my cars.

As much as I would love to see this, historically Apple has never included any telephoto lens as a secondary lens. They have always gone with adding an Ultra-Wide angle lens for all "non-Pro" iPhones.

With this said, when the Air 2 comes out during next Spring's release, it will have the main 48 megapixel Fusion camera, like the current Air, and a 48 megapixel Ultra-Wide angle lens. This is what I see the Air 2 having when it gets released.

Apple used to have a dual camera system with telephoto being the second lens, they certainly did in the iPhone X and XS, I think even the 7 and 8 plus did too. That was pre pro moniker!

I was not aware of this as I skipped the iPhone XS.

That's interesting you pointed this out Mark because I have two iPhone X's in my collection, the 256GB Space Grey I purchased brand new and a 256GB Silver and never realized they had telephoto lens on them until you had mentioned this. Shows you just how much I paid attention to them back in the day. Thanks for the clarification! 🙂
