Could this be caused by the anti-reflective coating?

How do you find the screen serial number to look up the manufacturer?
Press volume up & down and the off button all at the SAME time and only for a second. As soon as you feel the phone vibrate once then let go if it’s vibrated twice you probably held for 2 long. Then wait a few mins. Go into settings privacy, analytics and improvements then analytics and data then look for sysdiagnose. Open it. Save to files then extract it and open the file. Then go into ioreg folder then into iosdevicetree then get the search up and type in raw-panel. If it’s says GH3 then you got an LGs worst panel. If you get a GVC then it’s LGs best panel but not as good as Samsung. If you get a g9N that’s the best screen you can get an a g9q is maybe on par or slightly better than the gvc. My 16 pro max has a GVC and it s been a belter. Ordered a 17 pro max it had slight pink hue on the right and a greenish hue on the left. Although not the worst case of tint I have seen it was very distracting. I then found out it had a GH3 screen. However if you have a GH3 it doesn’t mean it’s going to be a bad screen it just means is more likely to have an issue or a quality issue as it’s a cheaper screen. I retuned the iPhone 17 pro max and decided to stick to my 16 pro max

Thank you for this useful info. So how do you identify which are the Samsung panels, and which are the best Samsung panels?

My 16 Pro Max is a GH3 panel. Who makes this panel, and how good is it?

Do yourself a favour and don’t go down this path. If the screen looks good TO YOU then that’s all that matters.

For me I have a GVC on my silver 17 PM 512 and apart from some green tint on the bottom when I tilt the top of the screen towards me (a scenario that doesn’t happen in real life) it’s a great tone and consistent, as is brightness.

And people have reported pink tint face-on with the Samsung panels, so it’s all subjective anyway.

That’s LG and that’s the worst panel but like I said before as long as it looks good to you that’s all that matters they are just more prone to issues. My 17 pro max with the tinting issue has this panel.

No problem. I just learnt it online GN9 is Samsung best and G9Q is not as good and made by Samsung. GVC is LGS best but not as good as Samsung my 16 pro max has a GVC and it’s been great. GH3 is LGS worst display but doesn’t mean it’s going to be bad it just quality control is not as good so you have more chance of getting a bad panel. Sorry I have been writing GN3 instead of GH3 I have corrected it all now.

Agreed my GVC is probably one of the best I have had. Got a blue 17 pro max in blue 256gb which had a GN3 and it was the worst panel I ever saw but I have heard people with great GN3 it just depends if you get a good panel or not

I am fortunate that my GH3 panel is as perfect as I can expect it to be. The colours are punchy and bright, and the screen is very even. Colour shift when tilted is minimal, less than most phones at the Apple Store.

That’s very good to hear. Like I said before just because you have that panel doesn’t mean it will be bad the QC is just not as tight. My GVC is great and when I tilt mine very minimal shift which to be honest I think any it does have is the screen protector. Hope you enjoy your phone and have many happy hours with it. I will try again next year.
