Here are 2 that I would like to see in Cydia/Installer maybe appstore:

1) "Categories" -which allowed you to group programs into a folder and choose an icon for it. For example a folder called games, then let you put all your games into it.

2) "Devicescape" or a WiFi log-in program. I have been missing this program dearly. The university where I go to school has unprotected wifi, but once connected you have to log in on a website. Really annoying because if I walk on or near campus, the iphone connects to the wifi and asks for a user and pw on the webpage I was just browsing.

If anyone has or knows of an alternative to either of these two, please let me know.

I disagree. A square is a type of rectangle. A rectangle is generally defined as "a parallelogram with four right angles" [1] which to me seems to be more general definition of a square. If we look at the first definition of the word square we see that a square is "a plane rectangle with four equal sides and four right angles". So really, squares are a subset of the set of possible rectangles.

all rectangles are squares
but squares are not all rectangles

dont ask me how that works
thats just how they teach it in geometry

Gay-dar

When you run the app it finds others with Gaydar in the surrounding area.
You can send pictures back and forth. you can disclose or reveal your location, name, identity, phone number, personal details...

MTA service alert

It would also be nice to get automatically sent service alerts like the ones they have on their webpage. Heck, it would be nice to know when the next L train was leaving since they've got that information as well.

iPhone SMS sender from iMac

What about an app that you can use to type sms txt messages from your iMac, sent by your iPhone?

The main reason to use it would be to type messages easier.

I really want someone to port the old PC game Skyroads to the iPhone it was one of those simple games that I was addicted to as a kid and would be perfect for the iphone.

Where else can I post iphone app requests?

Here's an idea, although it would be insanely difficult:

An app that connects to your iTunes library on a PC and can download over WiFi any songs that you have. That way, you don't have to load up on only songs you might want to listen to, as you could just download whatever you need on the fly.

I like the original Star Trek idea, too. I'm getting an iPod touch, though, and wouldn't have access to the voice features. If any devs want to make that app, you should also make one that doesn't use a mic.

As I understand it, the recently released Touch does indeed have a mic. From the point of view of an iPhone dev, this makes things a lot easier since iPhones and Touches can both take audio input.

Nope, it doesn't. I just checked the official Apple site, and there's no mention of a microphone among the new features. There is, however, an internal speaker.

Euchre

I'd love a Euchre game! I have a couple of great Spades apps but really miss playing Euchre!

The exact applications you describe as Categories already exists in Cydia under that name.

no, you have it backwards.
not all rectangles are squares, but all squares are rectangles.

a rectangle can have different side lengths so not every rectangle could be a square, but the rectangles that do have four equivalent side lengths are squares.
all squares have equal side lenghts already so they all have to be rectangles.

A Profile Application

I would like to see an app that was kind of like a user profile button. The app itself would have the ability to create multiple "profiles" and the user could set the preferences they want on and off. For instance:

At home I want 3G turned OFF, GPS turned OFF, and WiFi turned ON. When I'm in the office I want 3G turned OFF, GPS turned OFF and Wi Fi turned OFF. When I'm on the road I want 3G turned ON, GPS turned ON and WiFi turned OFF. Rather than going into settings and having to select these individually, I could go into this "profile" app and click the profile I want. Maybe even allow for different ring tones and volume, etc etc.

Most cell phones/ smartphones like the blackberry have this feature built in.

Anyway.. just my wish! Thanks!

There are only two applications I can think of that I actually need for my touch.

1. An Awaken-like alarm system for it. I need to be able to choose a playlist, and have it play through the speakers that my iPod is hooked up to, not just play some little sounds from the iPod itself like the default alarm that comes with it. There's no way that would wake me up.

2. This one is probably a lot more technical. Just like an airport base station allows for speakers to be plugged into it, which the computer can use wirelessly, I would like to be able to have my computer play sound through the speakers that my iPod is hooked up to. Obviously they would have to be on the same network. It would be sort of in the same vein as Remote which lets me control iTunes from my iPod, but a lot more awesome.
