fixed one thing

I installed the SDK, however when I attempt to load a sample project and build it, Xcode tells me: error: There is no SDK with specified name or path 'Unknown Path'

I tried re-installing, and uninstalling and then installing, but still the same thing. Not sure what I did wrong, since previous updates all worked fine.

Second question, it sounds as if people are putting the latest firmware on their real iphones. Is this possible?

I edited the project properties to make the project a iPhone 2.0 simulator and it appears fine now (well other than a few code errors).

Second question remains though, are people installing 2.0 on their real phones?

Apple brags about 200K developers. Are those the people that plunked down the $99? Or are they just people that registered at ADC and downloaded the SDK? I wonder, because I bet most of the people downloaded it just to tinker around with it. Just because you jailbroke your iPhone doesn't mean you're a developer. After a week when the novelty wears off and people realize they don't know Objective-C and Cocoa, you'll see that 90% of those "developers" weren't really developers at all.

I have to agree with you. I remember when it was first released so many people were posting here they were downloading it "just to check it out" but had never programmed before and had no intention of signing up for the $99 program. Then there were all those who downloaded believing it gave them the iPhone 2.0 software that they could put on their iPhones. Oy!

I've been running the beta firmware on my own iPhone. The first version was pretty buggy, and the second version expired a day before the next version came out, but so far it's mostly been okay.
It would have been smarter to just pick up an iPod touch instead of risking my primary phone, but I wanted to use the audio input in my app.

DRM music syncs and plays, the iTunes store has been readded, and the AppStore has been readded (although it reports a connection error).
Mine doesn't sync DRM musics movies - I mean, not everyone. Some of them.
Interestingly some DRM musics were synced and played.

I only have one iPhone, so I have to use my real one for testing :)

Yea I'm still waiting for my dev certificate too :( I wish they'd hurry up, I dont want to spend months developing apps to find out that I'm not included on launch day and miss out on a huge sales opportunity.
I want to submit my accelerometer-based app to the awards competition, but having an inability to test it at all puts a damper on development. Submissions need to be feature complete by May 12. And you are right about opening day, people will be just itching to try out a few new apps.

Little new features

By the way folks, there are some little new features. The seem to have optimized contact search and added new domain endings.

Just noticed the EDIT functionality in mail app (email list) is also changed, now new buttons for Delete and Move come up at the bottom of the list, a circle next to each email in the list. When an email is touched an arrow covers the circle on each email item in the list. So now bulk delete and move are implemented in a better way.

Bulk delete has been found weeks ago and so was contact search

The new domains are new though, thank goodness because I was wondering where this feature was.

Can someone post a picture of the full screen safari?

newyorksole, contact search is indeed nothing new. They just improved the look of it. Here are the screenshots for comparison between SDK3 and SDK4:

Fullscreen Safari doesn't seem to work with the iPhone simulator. I'd also like to see a screenshot.

glib and libxml on iphone?

was wondering , i have a C library that depends on glib and libxml
and want to know if i can put those on the IPHone OS?
if so, what's the best way to call this C Libary? do i just do a carbon
wrapper or just include the headers directly in the XCode?

thanks

yeah I saw what you mean between those 2 pics

Also, how do I put groups on my iPhone? I would like to use the feature. I know it has to do with a program on the computer, but can someone tell me how to do it so that I can have groups on my phone please.

newyourksole, it depends indeed on your computer application. In case you use a Mac I guess you use Addressbook for your contacts. You just have to create the groups you want to have on your iPhone on the left hand side. Should you use Outlook, you will have to create subfolders under your contacts-folder. The name of the subfolder will be the name of the group on the iPhone.

The stuff with the letters is in on 1.1.4. The addition of extra domains is new, currently we get a choice of .com and .co.uk over here.

Do we? How? The list on my iPhone (UK, bought from O2 on launch day, never jailbroken, running 1.14) doesn't. Hold the button down and the only option and the menu extends, but .com is the only option on it...

Still no horizontal keyboard in mail etc?

EDIT: Sorry, works now - I didn't have UK Keyboard turned on. But that's very odd, because I've never changed that setting (I didn't even know it was there until now...), so is it not enabled by default when your international setting is United Kingdom?
