With all these claims of the next generation iPhone coming out with iChat and a front facing camera, I have been thinking there has to be a catch. With everything that Apple does, they limit you so that you can only do what it is that that feature was intended to do. So I am thinking, I never use iChat on my mac and IM is kind of a dying fad. What I could see Apple doing, is limiting the front facing camera for only iChat/video conferencing. Not allowing it to be used as a picture taking/video recording camera. I would much rather like that kind of camera with a fixed camera button instead of having to find the button on the screen and drop your phone looking for it. So if this is the case, is the front facing camera really worth it? I'll be honest, I have been hoping for them to put a front camera on an iPhone since I got the iPhone 2G. I would love this feature, considering all the patents Apple has filed involving a camera. But...whether they restrict it or not...It would be good to have and show that they are listening to the wants of their customers who have been waiting this since the first iPhone came out.
