I do know that my service was crap yesterday but good today...makes me wonder if maybe they were having network issues yesterday.

3G or not 3G..

At this stage you don't need to go back to 1.4 iPhone software, the version 1 iPhone is fully unlocked / broken, its very easy to do this using any of the unlocking software.

If you have a 3g iPhone, then you need to consider something like this...

There is as of yet no software network unlock. Why do you want to go back to 1.4 software?

Network issues, call drops

I do know that my service was crap yesterday but good today...makes me wonder if maybe they were having network issues yesterday.

A lot of network issues and call drops are caused by bad clock syncing, in other words if your iPhone is set to sync time from the mobile network...

Go to "Settings" "Date & Time" and turn "Set Automatically" to "OFF". This will leave the iPhone figure time out itself each time you dock etc.

The problem occurs if there is even a slight difference in time settings between the iPhone and the other phone, the iPhone rejects the handshake and drops the call.

New iPhone 3G, worked 1 day, Then "No Service"

Do any of you have a solution to the "No Service" problem for an iPhone 3G. I can hardly downgrade it to firmware 1.4? I have tried both 2.2 and 2.1: Same result.

Iphone fix for "no service" message

I called the AT&T store and this worked: remove the sim card and put it back, that fixed my problem. To remove the SIM card, there is a teeny tiny little hole next to the power button (not the headphone hole), stick a paperclip or earring back in the hole and the sim card pops up next to it, take it out and put it back in. It should reset itself.

The iPhone 3G comes with a SIM ejection tool!

I Want an iPhone - ATT Extend the network into the home. Your competitors do...

Verizon Wireless Network Extender:
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/accessory?action=gotoFeatures

T-mobile hotspot at home:
http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/addons/services/information.aspx?tp=Svc_Tab_TMobileAtHome

To Whomever It may concern:

Please don’t tell anyone, but I have wanted an iPhone since it came out. I cannot justify buying one. I am a Verizon client because ATT has no coverage where I live. If ATT would provide a similar Network Extender service as Verizon and T-Mobil provides above, I would rush out ant get an iPhone or four (4).

Verizon has started to offer Network Extender. (link above)
T-Mobile provides Hot Spot @ Home. (link above)

Let’s go ATT. You’re not a monopoly anymore are you? Don’t you want more clients? Apple nudge these guys along won’t you?

I want an iPhone too!
