Update to iOS 18 and watchOS 11 did not resolve this issue.

Upgraded to iPhone 16 Pro and Watch Series 10 and this feature is working now. I never bothered with an unpair/repair so that would have likely fixed it. I restored from both phone and watch backups.

i did eventually unpair and repair and it fixed the issue. however even though it was restoring from a backup, tons of notification settings appear to have been reset and i had to go through and undo all the spammy things apple seems to want to turn on by default. that is my main issue with the unpair/repair troubleshooting - in addition to being its own annoyance, it creates further annoyances, and its like russian roulette whether a new bug will manifest on the next pair. :(

I’m facing the same issue with an Apple Watch Series 9 and iPhone 13. Does unpairing and re-pairing solve it? Any other solutions?

Yeah that’s what I had to do to get it working again. Although it’s worth noting I had just done a clean install and pairing when it started, so it amounted to having to repair twice. 😓

Unpairing and pairing does not affect the AppleCare monthly subscription, it only affects the credit cards stored in the Wallet, right?

Have you contacted Apple support?
No. They are so unhelpful and will just say unpair and re-pair which I’ve previously done. Doing this is a pain, as I have to contact multiple banks to get Apple Pay working again.
I’d hoped iOS 18 would sort it, but no. Good to see getting a new watch fixed it for macrlz9—but that’s a bit extravagant! 😂
