BEWARE of fine print (if there IS any)
Folks,
I just spent over an hour on internet chat with this person from another country (you can tell even through IM). I found out some critical pieces of information that I believe you should know. I inquired, and inquired like pulling teeth for her to explain the features of the plan differences. Heres what I found out
Im telling you this because I want others to know before you get suckered into H2O and what they DONT tell you from their website or from regular print in their contract.
If you have an existing phone. Lets say a 3G Iphone. Your phone only runs on 3G speed regardless of the fact H2O provides service of 4G. Youre not going to get more than what your new/used phone has. If its a 3G phone, you get slower internet speed and texting than with a 4G.
Now, if you happen to have a 4G phone. Great! H2O provides matching service for that 4G speed rate. You will get the rate of the 4G.
I dont know what kind of phones (3 or 4G) H2O promotes to provide you, but beware if they are 3G!!!! Youll be wasting your money. Get a 4G from somewhere else.
The $40 and $50 plans give you only a number of mbs of usage. But what happens after that I asked? What if you run out using that usage in your 30 days? You have to buy this stupid additional card for like $10? Yep. That IS if you want to have internet access. Otherwise, youll loose your internet access once your mbs are up in 30 days (but your phone calls and texting will still work). So with that $50 plan, you initially get 500 mb for 30 days. Guess how much that stupid $10 extra card gets you? 67 mb of usage on internet usage through your phone. Thats NOTHING! May give you 4 extra days of using the internet. Might as well just pay for another $50 to get a full 30 days or do without internet until your 30 days are up (heck, least youll have texting and phone calling)!
So you may be thinking; well, for that $10 extra month, I could get the 2gb plan and have internet usage a lot longer. And heck, For those techys out there that recall the basics
theres 1024mb per 1gb. And so for 2gb, you get 2048mb (4 times the usage in the $60 plan vs. the $50 plan).
BEWARE: The 2gb plan only gives you 500mb for 4G service. Yes! THATs right. They are disguising that you get 2gb at 4G for that much, but after 500mb use on the 2gb plan, it goes from 4G speed down to 3G speed on your 4G phone.
And when your mb or gb run out before 30 days? You have not internet usage.
If your usage is now passed 30 days? Youre out of luck no phone usage at ALL! And, you may have to pay a reactivation fee. Not sure on that though.
So the choice is up to you. But BEWARE.
