iPhone ripoff. You know what is so funny?

What is so funny is that the copycats are churning these out left and right and they are selling now and apple can't get theirs out the door till JUNE.


Don't spout out about how the iphone will be better either. Ofcourse it will but apple has had who know how long to get this iPhone done. Who knows when they actually started it and the copycats are building them and getting them on the market now. I can bet too that they copycats didn't start building them until the iphone was announced so that makes development to production only a couple of months for them.

Come on apple. Gettin showed up now.
 
Yuck, I hate knock-offs. I highly doubt the interface is as good on this clone, and that is 75% of the reason I'm getting an iPhone on launch day.

This is reminding me of those knock off designer bags and sunglasses. It might work, but it destroys the cool factor and makes the product a total waste unless it's the real deal (especially with such a software driven device such as iPhone).

On one hand, I am very angered that the iPhone might be delayed... On the other, I want a seamlessly integrated device that works PERFECTLY with all of my other mac hardware- and I want Apple to iron out all the kinks and not jump the gun.

Go iPhone! :)
 
At least if you're going to get a rip off of a well know product it needs to looks good......

China should just stick to Designer clothing rip offs not the electronics ones.
 
Well, of course the iPhone will be better...the camera won't be attached by Scotch tape...
 
Do you honestly think this clone (even it even actually exists) is anywhere near as good as the real thing in the making by Apple? Really? And maybe you missed the part where it says "that may or may not actually ship." ;)
 
The question I have is. Do all the knock offs have the same bug that always causes the time to read 9:41AM? and you'd think some one somewhere would come up with another wall paper? Oh yeah, thats right the phones are paper cut outs.

This is one of the most complete ones I have seen, although not the coolest.
 
These knock off phones may look similar, but thats pretty much where the similarities end. Its not going to have OS X and its not going to have multi touch. I think I'd rather have the prada before buying these fake iPhones.

lol did anyone else notice the apple logo on the back of the phone, the leaf is angled in the wrong direction.
 
copycat, do u guys get the details clear at all before making the statements?

1. is that product real at all?
2. is a same wallpaper amount to copycat?
3. any techs and functions are same as iphone? and does apple patented those functions? since SJ proudly claimed apple patented everything?
4. remember LG called apple copycat of their product? what do u say about that?

better stop abusing the word "rip off", especially when talking about a vaporware.

The iPhone is not vaporware. It's somewhat vaporous, since it's not for sale, but clearly there are real, physical, working prototypes that have been shown off in public. That makes it at least somewhat non-vaporous.

Also, Apple was working on the iPhone for two and a half years before they announced it. LG was just trying to get some publicity and attention with a statement like that. Their phone doesn't have multi-touch, which is the interface convention that the iPhone relies on as its most unique and innovative feature. The idea of a "phone with a touchscreen" is nothing new. It's the execution and Apple penchant for great design (both inside and out) that will make the iPhone stand apart from the rest.

It has a 720x480 screen, a 3 Mega Pixel camera, comes in 4 and 8GB capacities and (apparently) a multi-touch screen. Oh and their CEO says it was originally shown in 2006, then changed after the iPhone came out so it looked less similar. :rolleyes:

u think LG made a new phone in 2 months?

yeah, iphone has multi-touch, so does this fake phone in OP's post have multi-touch? so clearly ppl here do not think multi-touch is the standard of "rip off", or do they? (of course, I would like ppl really study the case like you, Im sure after that, they won't bother with this sort of rants)

finally, apple did NOT invent multi-touch tech, in case you still think so. multi-touch was invented more than a decade ago by some guy(s) who had no relationship with apple.

No, I don't think LG made their phone in 2 months. I also think for them to claim that Apple "ripped them off" when they showed it mere weeks before the public unveiling of the iPhone is, at best, a bit disingenuous. Turnabout is fair play: do you think Apple really made the iPhone in a couple months? In other words, parallel development of a similar idea does not a rip-off make. The extremely similar industrial design of some of these other overseas knock-offs, though, is a pretty good indicator of relative rip-off status.

Seriously, man, I don't know if English is not your first language or what, but that second paragraph is bordering on incomprehensible. I'm trying to decide if you're agreeing or disagreeing with me, and I have no idea. :confused:

Yes, Apple did not invent the idea of multi-touch—I'm sure you saw videos of that experimental multi-touch interface on YouTube a year or so ago. They are, however, the first company to implement a multi-touch capable capacitive touch-screen in a portable device—and, I believe, significantly invested in developing the technology involved. The big difference between this screen and other "multi-touch" screens that have come before it is that it's an LCD that fits in a handheld-sized space. Previous technologies relied on external sensors either in front of or behind the display surface.

sorry for the misunderstanding.

I think the "big difference" you mentioned is more about physical design than technical innovation.
 
Lol that one on engadgets pretty funny, the apple logos backwards. i hate all the ipod knock offs aswell.
 
Odd thing is Meizu is one of the more respected DAP manufactures from China and some of their players are being sold at Wallgreens in 2, 4, and the new 8gig model at a price lower than the Nano with more features. Like it has a larger screen(2.3 or something) and video support(divx was it?). So this M8 might be as good as the iPhone spec wise and may have some better stuff than the iPhone. However, in terms of quality of the phone itself and call quality that is remained to be seen on both phones, however both Apple and Meizu(for a Chinese company) have well made products.

Yeah, it's not a bad looking device to be honest, nice and compact.

I just can't understand all these companies who obviously possess a lot of engineering skill to put these devices together, but don't have an original thought in their heads.

You read my mind! i was just asking myself, why cant they just use a unique name and then people would buy it cuz they definetly look like capable and decent looking phones :confused:
 
Haha this is ridiculous! but so funny how they came up w/ this stuff. looks very crappy though lol
