Not quite ALL the power of the 6s+...
It literally uses the exact same chip as the 6S Plus ... so pretty much yes ... all the power of the 6S Plus.

Same cpu...yes, but missing 2nd gen Touch ID, camera improvements, etc.
Uh ... the 6S doesn't have those camera improvements either. Power is generally a term used for the processor and GPU ... which is exactly the same in the SE as the 6S Plus.

Just setting record straight, that's all...the SE is not a flagship phone.

Whether it has enough of the key features is up to each to decide...

Did anybody in this thread mention that the SE is a flagship phone? Damn insecure people. So you read "I love the iPhone SE and suits me perfectly" and answered with "SE is not a flagship phone"

I can tell these douche bags are upset that SE has the same power specs as their 6s and spent twice as much. They won't hesitate to tell you all about the missing features. It's just a damn phone. Don't let it define who you are. LMAO

Why are you jumping on my back?

Suggest you read thru all the posts in this thread. I'm glad the SE exists...choice is good.

But to be fair to the nay-sayers... the SE is not a flagship phone.

Does that matter to me or the others who are glad Apple released this? Of course not!

Can you please point out the person that said that the SE is Apple's flagship phone. I'd like to set him straight myself.

I'm not sure that anyone said that it was.

There was a recent thread posted about how, because SE is the newest phone...that some assumed it to be the latest and greatest iPhone.

I'm just glad that Apple released this. And if this gets upgraded in 2 years time, at least a 50-50 chance that I switch to this. I know that my niece will probably get this phone...she's been using a 4s and likes the 4" screen.

You're not setting anything straight. The person you were responding to was referring to the power only ... and it being crammed into a smaller body. This 400 dollar phone has the same power as the much more expensive flagship phones. It might not be advertised as a flagship (because it isn't), but its internal components for the price are very impressive considering how much cheaper it is. In fact, due to the smaller phone resolution, the benchmarks of the SE actually beat the other two phones in several areas.

iPhone SE 16 GB ~ $399
iPhone SE 64 GB ~ $499

iPhone 6S 16 GB ~ $649
iPhone 6S 64 GB ~ $749

iPhone 6S Plus 16 GB ~ $749
iPhone 6S Plus 64 GB ~ $849

Its two bigger brothers are 250 to 350 bucks more ... and they have the same internal A9 chip with 2 GB RAM and the same camera as the 6S. You can call the SE whatever the heck you want, but it has flagship components in a smaller form factor for a much cheaper price.

On a side note, I finally got to play with the SE today in the store ... and it was like a 5S on steroids. The little thing was stupid fast compared to my aging 5S I still have around ... so much that it felt like an entirely different phone. The UI seems a lot crisper, probably due to the 3x speed GPU driving it ... or maybe I'm just imagining it due to the dramatic performance bump in the phone.

Nobody did, he's creating arguments for himself.

Don't forgot that the SE doesn't have 3D Touch either.

Personally, I find it to be a gimmick (and turned it off after 2 days), but word is still out on that. If Apple and other developers expands the app support, it might be more useful.

im using it now and love it. the standby time is ridiculous on this phone. battery consumption while watching media is minimal. one handed operation makes this phone compelling. it has a classic design at this point. typing on this phone is easier. this phone is a fuggin porsche mkay? and it looks sexy. so what its not a 4.7 inch sized display. same ppi as the 6s. phone is fast as ****. you dont look like a fuggin nerd turd with an oversized phablet. it fits well in your pocket. switching tracks while jogging is painless. i know its not safe at all, but using the phone while driving is much easier thereby safer to other drivers.

phone has the latest A9 SoC + 2GB of RAM. i came from a 6+ and it feels like an upgrade. had to get used to the smaller screen size but adjusted already.

this phone is gangster as ****

just tired of some folks denigrating a device that is not meant for them. isnt this phone going to be free on contract? for the mid-tier smartphone category the SE is a compelling device. it blows out of the water other mid tier phones in terms of performance.

Yeah I hear ya. I played around with it today at the store and I'm even more excited than I was before. It's stupidly fast. Still two weeks out before mine gets here. >_>

In the Depths of the SLC!
I'm enjoying my SE quite a bit! I never felt like my 6 Plus was slow but after using my SE all week and using my 6 Plus for a little bit, it feels so much slower! I know they generally slow down after a bit because files accumulate in the apps, but I restored from a backup so that only explains some of it.

Most people see it and think it's a 5S, I show them the back cover and tell them about it and they really like it. Most would agree the 5 series was probably Apple's best phone design. I do miss the shiny edges (they are matte now) as they would match my 9.7 Pro better.

I'm still in the beginning and getting used to the smaller size so I'm still keeping my 6 Plus around a little longer, but I have a feeling I will be selling it before the end of the month.

iPhone 5 was my first iPhone and I loved it, I upgraded every year until the 6S. I found the 6 to be awkward for me and although I thought I wanted a bigger screen, I actually enjoy using my phone one handed more than I enjoy having screen real estate. I see the 5 as a classic design and the SE top of the tier of the 4" screen size iPhone offerings. I hope Apple continue to develop the 4" iPhone along side the larger phablets.

The real genius is that Apple got all the gubbins into this tiny and powerful unit. Us 4 incher's have not been left behind and for that, I thank you Apple!

That's a lot of functionality lost from the 6S+ to the SE.
Not really, while the + has OIS, force touch, and a better display, there's not much else that it has which makes a marked difference. The price difference is great as well. :)

Nice device if you want a small screen but what's intriguing about it? We have seen it all before.

Not if one didn't care for the larger size phones and so stayed with a 5C. I loved the 5C for its sturdiness too (and am keeping it as a spare and as a WiFi device) so I am delighted with my SE now: it has a sturdy build plus it's a true upgrade for me anyway coming from the 5C.

The price is also very attractive. I bought it unlocked from Apple and just took it to my AT&T account which is off contract now but still carries the 15% discount they give hoping that one will sign up for their Next gig in future. So I have an unlocked "upgrade" without having actually upgraded or incurred any change whatsoever in my bill, plus the phone is a great leap forward from the 5C specs-wise. And iOS 9.3 solves my residential no-service problem by giving me WiFi-calling. Happy camper here. Past happy. I'm thrilled to be able to get a text message without driving five miles up the mountain...

Well, here's some proof of the battery's improvement: This was my phone last night at bed time after starting duty at about 5:30am. Full day including three hours stuck at a car dealership for an auto repair (lots of browsing, messaging, and so on there!!). The 6 would definitely have been dead long before this!!

I remain quite impressed.

I wouldn't call it a sleeper. Barometer and 3D Touch were two linch pins for me. I maybe could have lived without 3D Touch but certainly not the pressure sensor which is used for so much more than just measuring when its going to rain.

What are you using the pressure sensor for?
