Which design do you prefer, iPhone se2 or iPhone 11?

In between to be honest. I like the home button. I’m more of a throwback feeling type a person. I love the iPhone 7 and always have. The iPhone 6s too. Of course the first SE and the iPhone 5s. I would have them both and use them on alternating days

I’m really liking what I’m hearing about the se2/9. I’ll probably buy one. The only iPhone left without a notch.

I think the big square full of camera lenses on the new iPhones looks tacky af but I dig the functionality. But I still hate that notch, and we all know it’s going to go away at some point. I refuse to buy an iPhone with a notch.

SE2 Plus is looking better, full-screen display, tiny notch, Touch ID on the power button.

That’s an iPhone 8... no one knows what it’ll really look like yet.

I prefer the iPhone 11 though. Having a phone with FaceID and a notch. I grew to like it way faster than I thought.

I prefer the smaller size Vs the thick boy 11

But specs on the 11 with wide angle camera and better battery life make it the more desirable device for me overall

I think we know what to expect though, even if it doesn’t publicly exist yet. 4.7” screen like the iPhone 8 with Touch ID like the iPhone 8, “iPhone 8” design. I’m sure there will be some cost cutting in there too, Sort of like the 5s to the SE or iPad Air to iPad 5th/6th gen doing away with the chamfered edges to save a bit on manufacturing costs while keeping the same case.

This is typical of Tim’s Apple, recycled designs. It keeps costs down, and fits with the rumours of a cheaper product

At this point in time, there’s only a few months until rumoured launch time so most of the design language and specs would already set in stone, which is why the supply chain rumours are more or less reliable and have been around for a while.

What we don’t know is the name because that could still change prior to release, similar to how the rumoured “5SE” name (which was the supply chain name rumour) was rebranded the SE when it was publicly unveiled. Apples probably got the general packaging and multiple logos etc designed but those are more templates and the specifics are subject to change

Also came to like the iPhone 11 Face ID way more than the iPhone X when it first came out. Way faster. However the screen of the iPhone 11 was not useful for me as I always retained the original ratio so I wouldn’t see the notch and I like being able to press Touch ID with the older iPhones flat on a table.

I'm using the iPhone 11 now, and sometimes I still want to press home button, but it's gone.

I’d say the most underrated feature about the iPhone 7, had to be the haptic home button. It had a quicker response time versus the push-style button the iPhone 6s and under used, plus, you had tactile feedback, confirming what action you’re invoking. Plus, it helped used with the water resistance.

The chamfered edges were still there. It's just matte/sandblasted instead of shiny/polished. Given the shiny chamfered edges are easily nicked, I actually prefer the sandblasted finish.

As somebody who didn’t like the notch stuff first it’s not that big of a deal now

After following up all the “SE 2” rumours for a while, I got bored and just went with 11 for now. Fresh tech, dual SIM, great performance and great battery life - ticked all my boxes. Used it for a week and got used to its bigger size (vs iPhone 7) and FaceID just fine. Might consider getting a 5.4” model next year, but for me the rumoured SE 2 will be exactly what SE was compared to 5S - same (iPhone 8ish) body stuffed with a faster chip and more RAM. Nice, of course, but a very minor nice.

Your brain will readjust with time and I personally enjoy swiping things up to reveal the open apps vs having to double-click that home button.

The notch is not as horrible to me as some people think. The home button isn’t what I like though. Id like a iPhone SE2 if it didn’t have a home button
Agree! I wish Apple allows non-X to have X-gesture!

I didn't even notice the notch anymore once devs coded around it properly.

The notch is just a poor design choice and Apple seems to be too stubborn to admit it. I don’t understand why anybody thinks that is better than having just a straight narrow bezel along the top of the phone to house the camera/sensors so the screen isn’t obstructed. Apple will cling to this stupid decision for years to come before finally doing away with it and acting like it is a new feature to have a screen without a notch cut out at the top.

But you’re not a design engineer for Apple, are you? My point is, when they created the notch, it wasn’t necessarily meant to be ‘obtrusive’, they used it to house the most advanced components for biometric security that no one else had at the time. It’s not to say that they won’t reduce/eliminate the notch, but let’s not blow this out of proportion assuming that you think you know what Apple would/or would do, The notch is a non-issue for anyone outside this forum, case in point.
