Who's we? How do you now? You work at apple, insider info lol.

You seriously expect Apple to redesign something in iPhone 8, upgrade its internals and sell it for 50$ less than the current old already discounted iPhone 8? I can’t see it happen, sorry. For the rumoured price (399$) it could only be an “iPhone 8 refitted”.

The notch is just a poor design choice and Apple seems to be too stubborn to admit it. I don’t understand why anybody thinks that is better than having just a straight narrow bezel along the top of the phone to house the camera/sensors so the screen isn’t obstructed. Apple will cling to this stupid decision for years to come before finally doing away with it and acting like it is a new feature to have a screen without a notch cut out at the top.

I did not like the notch as a concept either before I actually tried it. Instead of thinking about it as an oddity obstructing the screen, you can just look at “ears” as giving you little extra space for some additional info (time, cellular/WiFi icons and the battery). The videos, by the way, can stay perfectly rectangular and notch-free, unless you force them to fill the entire screen.

I agree that Apple went with function over form on this one, but as the tech advances, the notches will become smaller and smaller. The tech behind it works great on the latest iPhone range and I am looking forward to it evolving even more next year.

It’s probably part of a long term goal of eventual removal of the notch for something like a truly bezel free display. It will be huge- the first iPhone with Face ID that doesn’t need the notch. They’re looking ahead 5-10+ years and that’s why they’re in no rush to ditch the compromised screen design. It’s like the longer they hold out the more impressive it will look when they finally ditch it. Look how far iPhone has come, it no longer needs a notch after all those years, must have been really hard to figure out a place to put those sensors other than top and center on the screen. I bet when they finally do change it the sensors will just be in a row along a narrow bezel the way they should have done it in the first place.

There's rumours of a variant of the iPhone 12 coming out in September 2020 with a 5.4" design. I found this render online and it's pretty much the same size as the current iPhone SE without bezels:

You shouldn't visiting this site if you can't tell the difference between an unsubstantiated rumor versus a prediction backed by Kuo, Gurman, Barclays, and Nikkei.
