Just restored using the new INdependence, and YouTube works flawlessly! I've only been able to tets it on WiFi so far, but it's working like a charm.

Just so you know, the unlock survives restores to the same (1.0.2) firmware. So you don't have to run the 20 minute iUnlock process again. Just saying.
Running into an issue, as the new iNdependance does not have all of the buttons from the older one. for example, there is no Put PEM file or generate activation.
That's because the activation process has been greatly simplified. Just click "Activate" and that's all you have to do.

restarted iNdependance again and it worked so far...
I assume because as you said, (wow great english) i dont have to go any further, phone is unlocked says T-Mobile and now Youtube works!

Unplug and plug-in your phone. Failing that, reboot it and plug it in. I have those errors in iNdependence all the time. Usually fixed by just reconnecting the phone.
First off id like to say sorry I do remember seeing something because i did read every post before i bought the iphone yesterday, I swear i looked again and could not find it. So again sorry for reposting things that have been answered. But i thank you for the reply. You mention you do not have to go thru the restore and the iunlock again so if i just download the newest independence and run a activation again it should not mess up the sim unlock? and just restore youtube functions correct?
OK i have a question guys
I live in Canada, so how do I go about activating the iphone first so I can get into it for jailbreaking etc.
would I have to use dvd jon's method? if so do I need itunes 7.3 or is the latest itunes ok too? Can someone provide me the hex edited exe too?
My other question is, once activated...iBrickr is not working for the latest iTunes I heard...so do I use an older itunes version? if so...which one?
I am running XP Pro.

restored? so you started over from scratch (unlock process)?
So let me walk through the process then
1) using itunes, restore the phone
2) phone powers back on, says "ACTIVATE" on it.
3) run independence
4) run youtube fix
5) run activate
6) should be good to go....
right?

Had a problem with the MINICOM

I got an error from the first code and ok from the second. I pushed on and it worked

I activated using iNdependance 1.1.1 and my phone is unlocked now...can I just deactivate and then activate using the new iNdependance 1.2, to get Youtube working? Or will I need to do a full restore before YouTube can work (my unlock should still be ok though shouldn't it, I'll just have to load all of my stuff back on?)?

hi i used the gui and the unlock.app and started the 20 wait and after that it was complete. so i reboot the iphone put the new sim then this happen incorrect sim. i went to settings checked my carrier it did show rogers but the page was white i couldnt touch it. and i cant make calls. so i need help to fix this incorrect sim problem. thanks for ur help.

Visual Voicemail - On AT&T SIM / Network
Hi -- I've unlocked mine also - BTW THANKS!!!!!!!!!
Question -- I've got an AT&T phone already (blackjack with AT&T voice and data plan for it). I've shifted the SIM from that over to the unlocked iPhone and everything works except the following:
1) YouTube - is there a way to fix this without signing up for iPhone data plan instead -- I'd rather stay with my current data plan that I already have.
2) Visual Voicemail -- it doesn't work -- only works like normal voicemail as I've already had on my BlackJack on AT&T. Is there a way to fix this without signing up for iPhone data plan instead -- I'd rather stay with my current data plan that I already have.

If I use the http://iphone.unlock.no/ method, on WinXP, does the new SIM need to be activated after the unlock, or is it pop in and go?
I have a legit AT&T iphone account in the US, but I'm interested in traveling abroad. Can I unlock stateside, then go to Europe and buy a prepaid SIM and pop it in without activating? I'd like to not have to bring my laptop with me on this trip. Also, does the legit AT&T SIM still work after unlock as well?
