I think a lot of people are not retarded like the ones who are waiting in line. It's not like the PS3 where there was only like 10 per store. All the stores are going to be getting like at least 1000 phones, so most people realize there's no point in going to wait in line when you'll be able to walk in there tomorrow and buy one without any problems.

exactly. Nearly every ATT store in my area has 80-90, the apple stores have hundreds...

If it sells out today and stores get the advertised allocated amount, by all means applause for Apple. But i highly doubt it.

yeah ok...porsches suck, PS3's suck, iphones/ipods/imac's suck, space shuttle's suck, swimming pools suck, chocolate fudge cookies suck, beach houses suck, madonna sucks, yada yada yada...

DUDER - these days everything GREAT sucks on the internet!.

Only mediocre second rate over-techy ultra-complex boot loading self-coding hacked up sh*t seems to be worth a damn on the internet...it's becoming a TOTAL BALL ACHE

and you know what - THAT SUCKS!!

Doesn't look like a dud to me.

Left my office at 5:30. Got to mall and Apple Store (Roosevelt Field, Long Island) 10 minutes later. Line about 300 people long (estimate). Watched the store open at 6 and decided I didn't fell like waiting. Cheering was really, really loud by crowd.

Took a very round about way home past 5 ATT stores. All the lines were too long for me to wait. I'm probably going to go out later tonight or first thing tomorrow AM to try and snag one. All 5 ATT stores had at least 100 people on line. 3 stores on Long Island and 2 in Queens.

FWIW

My goodness, are you not allowed to make a topic on this forum about something other than how great the iPhone will be? The original poster was only giving an opinion about how he thinks the sales won't match the hype. The fanboyism is really killing me here.

Jeez, have an OPEN MIND FOR F**** SAKE.

I think the iPhone looks like a really nice product, and I was impressed when looking at the videos etc when it was announced, but I feel it is too expensive, and an example of how big ass companies usually try and take advantage of its customers.

The OP called it a dud. Even IF it was a dud, it's stupid to peg something as a dud before something's even sold yet. OK OK, he called the iPhone a name. I don't like that because I want one. It's sort of like dissing someone's mother.

as I went in to 5th ave at 7:12 there had been 989 people according to the guy at the front of the line that was the security guard counting people on the clicker. I'm posting from inside the store on an iphone I do have to say amazing and the keyboard is totally a non issue I'm already flying with two thumbs and I've never had a qwrty phone ...

Well its amazing ... Wish I had enough money to get one ...

Most people are walking out with two ...

My Apple Store shelled out more then 200, I repeat, MORE THEN 200 IPHONES! This is in no way a dud. Get used to it, people love it.
