Question: if we already are on the iPhone upgrade program do we need to do another credit check when we get the 7? Or is it simply just hand in my 6s and get the 7?

Looks like it's a brand new loan with another (hard) inquiry. http://www.apple.com/legal/sales-support/iphoneupgrade_us/ in section 2B, bullet 2. I'm thinking of buying my current 6S+ out from Citizen's and selling. Then I would get a new iPhone via T-Mobile. I don't need another inquiry on my report because Apple and Citizen's can't get their stuff together. The carriers don't run another credit check on you when financing a new phone through them (aside from your initial one when you signed up for service.)

Is it Better to go through att next program or Apple upgrade program?

I prefer Apple. Especially if you are going to upgrade after 12 months, you essentially get AppleCare+ for free. If you pay the full 24 months, then AppleCare+ is factored into the cost. But after 12 months its actually cheaper than Next and comes with AppleCare+. Then you are also no dependent on AT&T.

64GB iPhone 6s:
AT&T Next = $37.45 X 12 = $449.40 + $129 for AC+.
iPhone Upgrade Program = $36.58 X 12 = 438.96 Includes AC+.

The only downfall of iPhone Upgrade Program is credit check. I am hoping once you already have an established loan with Citizens One they won't require a new credit check.

So what should the price be for a 7 64gb? $30 a month? Might have to get rid of my 6S on trade in.

Screen is pretty scratched but rest of the phone is immaculate

so if we stay with the upgrade program we have to do a hard inquiry every year? Thats pretty ******. If you are a previous customer with citizens you shouldn't have to do a hard pull every year....you already have established credit with them.

I would imagine you will have to do a hard pull every time. Credit card companies do it for credit line increases even after you have them for years. Car loans and leases work the same as well.

Unless for some reason they switch to soft pulls for all current customers.
