And I had put it on the list of complaints when bringing in my iPhone 7 Plus, which mainly had a distorted speaker. I got a replacement, sold it and bought the X. I only now found out about it being software related. Djeez... I hadn’t thought of that!?I had this and could replicate it 100% of the time. Went to the apple store which is a 2 hour commute. Waited two hours for them to replace the haptic engine and speakers. Tried it with the rep one i got it back. It still clicks. The rep shrugged and said i should wait and see what happens.
Go plug your phone in. Enjoy the new haptic feedback click bug. ****ing Apple can’t get **** right anymore.Tested and the haptic bug is now resolved by updating to 11.2.5 today

Of course the haptic was intentional. The clicking sound on the other hand is a bug.I still get a faint haptic - similar/same as the multitasking one - but I do believe it’s intentional. Previously, there was almost a weird click. Also, there was no haptic feedback when the mute switch was on, now it’s consistently present both mute and not, so it feels intended. And I kind of like to have some feedback.
NO clicking here with my iPhone X or 7+ on iOS 11.2.5 when I plug it in, or access the control center, or access accessibility.
Plug it in and unplug a few times in a row. It’s there
Is there a fix for this?I still get a faint haptic - similar/same as the multitasking one - but I do believe it’s intentional. Previously, there was almost a weird click.
