Have a good friend a S9 and we lay them side to side, with my X to look at the screens, and I see little difference except for some differences in color temp. It is a non issue to me as there is no way I am leave iOS. My friend is returning her S9 today and we are going to the Aplle store to buy her an X.

Just can’t see how the S9 is that superior to the X but I am prejudiced.

The S9 sucks. S9+ different story.

If you're spending $600 USD + on a phone, you better have the best specs you can get on Android. The S8 is just a better value version of the S9, especially since the S9/S9+ had a litany of display issues not functioning. Apple had the iPhone X screen freeze issue too. Samsung chose to fracture its end users based off two major specs: RAM and cameras. The S8 and S8+ had identical RAM, cameras, and other specs.

I just cannot help but feel the S9 is a ripoff, at least in my opinion.

Chances are your friend wouldn't be returning a phone if they purchased the Pixel 2/2 XL or a OnePlus 6. Samsung is the first place people look to for Android. Rightfully so since it's the biggest Android OEM. However, it's you either like it or hate it. Samsung gives you a blend of hardware and software features. However, their software support is piss poor. The best approach is the Pixel brand. If you want a budget experience, Android One is the other way to go.

I think you can get good value out of a $270 Nokia 6.1 which is about the same premise as the iPhone 7+ or 8+. 1080p LCD display, 4k camera recording, strong build quality, 3gb RAM, clean software, timely updates, etc.

The difference between those flagship iPhones and the 6.1 are camera performance, processor performance, dual camera modules, water resistance, a more premium design and feel, software update timelines, and Apple's customer service.

You get what you pay for with both devices.

Sorry for the typo I meant the S9+. My view has notmchanged and the X is superior. It matters not to me as I would never used Android, ever. Enjoy!

Better screen, headphone jack, no notch, bigger screen to body ratio, better battery life, sd card slot, better stereo speakers, fingerprint scanner, better camera with variable aperture, DeX, Android...

You can adjust the saturation in the settings in case you didnt know, it will look the same as pale looking iPhone screen.

LOL You were somewhat credible until you got to “Android”. Not happening, left it years ago and no way I would go back.

Enjoy your Android, but beware the over saturated screen can make your eye bleed.

If price were equal, the X is a better product experience than the Note 8 or another Galaxy. This is coming from a former X owner. I like the software smoothness, the build quality, the screen, FaceID, and the timely updates. However, that's where it goes south because iOS 11 has been a disappointment. Plus, the device feels like it will be phased out soon, so the next version will be more of a longevity driven approach w/ more RAM and revised internals since the first X is meant to be a pilot model.

I may get the 6.1 myself. However, I am very brand conscious and rather have the Galaxy brand for hardware and software features.

Same with the iPhone screen making people dizzy lately.

What is great as we can each choose our own “poison”. I got to go now as I am getting dizzy:p

What is great is we all have choice.

Seriously falling behind Samsung.

Two different phones. Not sure how they’re “fallingl behind when there are vastly different terms of software, hardware, biometric security options (3D facial mapping on the X versus 2D, etc.)

I can't believe how big of a difference the screens are now. I do like theOled X screen but the phone is looking very outdated as I compared it to the s9 model.

I would say the iPhone X display is more neutral, where the S9 tends to have more saturated colors. There is a difference, but I don’t think it’s to the point where it would make me change my mind about switching phones.

Definitely considering leaving iPhones for good. Not just for screen purposes but Apple is definitely falling behind in other categories as well.

It’s your prerogative if you choose to switch to Samsung, but I always find that it’s a really difficult thing to do given how dominant iOS is, especially with their longer support of software, customer service and of course their security is really important as well.

I love your arguments. Have fun!

Glad to entertain. Would have answered much quicker but checked my email before going into the front door and got dizzy again. Darn X screen!

I'm hating the X screen now lol

It’s all personal opinion and preference, I find Samsung OLEDs oversaturated whilst giving really deep rich colours, the X is a lot more natural and IMO better but not as bright.

I wold never claim they are lagging behind Samsung though.
As for the iPhones X design? It’s like a piece of jewellery and better then then S9. It’s better made too, but again preference.
