I'm guessing that replacing a screen that has burn-in is a lot cheaper than buying a brand new phone because you're worrying it might burn-in. OP just wanted a new device is all.

Yet here you are defending the fact that burn in is enevitable on OLED panels.

What you’re saying is actually false, as a matter fact, complete opposite, I Actually acknowledged _twice_ in this thread to you that image retention can still be a possibility, but it’s certainly not as prone as you’re making it sound base of *one*Reddit thread that you linked that you didn’t read through.

For reference:

I’m not saying it’s not possible, but OLED has matured enough to the point where it’s not really that much of a concern anymore as it was in the years past.

Again, I’m not saying it’s not possible, but it’s more of a rarity then anything else.

**************************************
that was to simply learn and gather others experiences to expand of on that of what I found on the reddit thread and something I found interesting.

And that’s perfectly fine that you linked a Reddit thread, but it seems like you’re trying to validate something based off one article, when other members are simply contradicting you for the majority in this thread. Again, image retention is something that is a possibility, but for whatever reason, your fixated on that it should be something that should be known, when it’s really not an issue as you can see throughout this thread and its rare it does happen.

It’s not widespread at all, in fact if you took the time to search right here on this forum you’d notice that no one‘s complaining about Burn in on the X. Kudos to Apple.

9 months all is still good on mine. I also LOL’d how you think the XR is an upgrade to the X. You don’t need to justify why you’re looking at an LCD screen, it’s your choice, we all know OLED is better. Burn in is not an issue if your responsible.

And might I add, even had I feel the phone is an upgrade isn’t that a decision I make for myself? Maybe it has a feature set that is more suitable to my life? Therefore it would be an upgrade? Just because I don’t want to sit here proving that I have the most expensive handset automatically makes me less of a person? You clearly have a warped perception on things.
