Pro Tip: Install screen protectors in a steamy bathroom. The steam will eliminate any dust in the air and the moisture that gets trapped under the glass goes away in a couple of days.

Depending on the case, the can trap dirt and do more damage than many think. Soft and gummy cases are famous for this fact.

Yes the 8 i got had a mark all around the glass on back from the case, probably giving to my daughter was too good a bargain to flip for $200 profit, got it for $729 off Apple retail.

Yep, works (almost) every time. I usually go through 1 or 2 before I get it right. Applying screen protectors ranks high on my list of things I hate.

They’ve saved my screen more than once though.

I’m pretty good at installing them on phones but have a couple coming for my new iPad which I’ve never installed glass on before so that should be an adventure.

Ditch the screen protector, they just look so cheap. Get a quality case which covers all corners and always keep the phone in an empty pocket. In 10 years of using iphones I've always had a scratch free display (Touch Wood).

To each his own with provolone. I prefer to keep my screen free or micro scratches! If you buy a quality one it actually enhances the screen because their no smudges from fingerprints left behind.

My thoughts are iPhone displays are durable enough today were screen protectors are not needed. I understand they are optional and some prefer them, but if one uses caution with their displays, none of my iPhone displays have scratches, but I also don’t carry my iPhone in my pocket with any other items.
