Go for it, you've been many years with the pluses, change it a bit. I can't wait to get mine. this will be the most important iPhone release since the 4.

What did you think of the 6? I would have thought the 6 to be the last most important iPhone release before the X.

For me personally the iPhone X might be too small. I really like my 8 Plus form factor to be honest.

Here is a side by side comparrison

Same. The iPhone X is using the same playbook as the Samsung Galaxy S8. I personally find the user experience associated with that form factor to be unacceptable for my preferred usage.

iPhone 4.7” users will probably be quite happy though.

I look forward to the iPhone X+ next year.

Y'all are crazy. The difference between the Plus screen and the X screen is peanuts: slightly narrower, slightly taller. But the actual device will be significantly smaller, which is a huge big deal.

The short answer:
It will feel smaller than the +
In most scenatios it will be closer to the regular model.
Also a big concern for me.

Was one of the main reasons I passed on the X.

The Plus is perfectly sized... I can use it one handed with no problem. :)

For anyone looking to see what the new X would be like compared to your 7/8 plus model, it's just on a piece of paper but the measurements are correct, it's a picture taken and then a screen shot, just zoom outside line and that will give you an idea the difference between the two. I think this gives a good idea of what your giving up coming from the plus if a video or game or whatever is in 16:9

iPhone X is exactly a stretched 5 inches, so 3.8mm wider than an iPhone 4.7 ", but 6.2mm narrower than a Plus.
At the surface level they are pretty much the same, but it's obvious that a 16: 9 is much better optimized than a 19.5: 9 for content consumption at the same surface.
And they consume the same resources ...
Basically iPhone X is like a 5 inches device that consumes the same resources of a 5.5 inches in a tipycal 5 inch case with a typical 5-inch battery.
When I hear that the latest smartphones will be better optimized, I'm getting angry...
It is exactly the opposite.

I have the Galaxy S6 too and it is the exact dimensions as that of the X or 10 iPhone. Bigger then the 4.7" - wider and a little taller. You will feel the width!

the iPhone X will feel nearly the same as the Samsung S8. So if you're still in doubt, just go to a store where they sell smartphones and play for a few minutes with the S8 so you can experience the ergonomics.

I had the Samsung S8 for a few months, the first few days/weeks it's like you're holding a TV remote.

I am still torn between the 8 Plus and X ;)

I think the wider iPhone 8 plus makes typing much easier. The width on the iPhone x is very similar to iPhone 8 but taller won’t feel like a plus model but more toward the regular model.

That’s exactly what I’ve posted several times but I think some people are in denial.

You want to know what to expect from an iPhone X, go play with a Galaxy S8 and you will get a very good approximation.

There is no way I could go from an iPhone Plus to an S8. I had to get the S8+ instead because the S8 screen seems tiny compared to the iPhone Plus and it's 5.8" vs 5.5" just like the iPhone X vs iPhone 8+.

my apologies! did'nt see them

but you're right, current Plus users, will mostlikely not fancy the X once held in their hands.

I think you can convince yourself of anything when you are dropping a $1000.

But I also can't wait for the "My iPhone X screen seems so small compared to the iPhone Plus" threads, because you know they are coming.

Absolutely. While the Plus has no business having as much bezels as it does for the phone design, screen width helps fit a more comfortable virtual keyboard. I'm really not overly fond of these narrow and tall screens. I'd rather have less bezels on sides, top and bottom while keeping the 16:9 format.

Ha ha ha....... you know they are coming. There will be a ton of people complaining how small their 5.8 inch display iPhone X is and how can that be when the iPhone 8 plus has a smaller display at 5.5 inches.

This is why i’m Still going back and forth about wanting the Note 8 as well.

I had a S8 for a few months and you very quickly get used to the aspect ratio so I don't think anyone has anything to worry about.

And yes I totally agree it's the best phone to compare the X against before you pre-order it.

Good one thanks, I think I'm tending toward the 8+, in the hope the there is an X+ (or whatever they would call it) next year.
There will be X designed iPhone plus next year in addition to the regular size like 4.7 . Apple has planned that.
[doublepost=1506345505][/doublepost]
You should be concerned.

X is more beneficial to non-plus owners.

Plus owners, especially those who are regular landscape users, will be putting reduced form factor ahead of reduced screen if they were to go X.

Maybe next year Plus users will get their dream phone. This year, for the most part, non-plus owners get to go 'edge to edge' sans sacrifice.
You are correct. Next year Plus users will get their dream phone.

Well maybe

Who’s to say apple will be able to meet demand for two OLED devices.

I predict this will happen next year.

iPhone 9 4.7" with the same screen and design with the home button at SE prices
iPhone 9 plus with the same design as the X but with an LCD Screen
iPhone 10 plus with the OLED screen at a slightly cheaper price

Ideally though they should just have the iPhone 9 SE and X only to simplify their product range

Does not look perfectly sized for your hands. To hold maybe but not to use. No way your thumb is reaching all round that screen.

the man says it fits him.. so it fits him, eh? ;)

So anyway...

As said... the Plus is the perfect size... for me. I can reach apps anywhere on the screen... type text messages... with one hand.

I've had the 6 Plus, 6s Plus and now 8 Plus... and have never once said "this phone is too big."
