I ended up getting the 8+ in black 256 gig for $397. It matches my Apple watch. I really like the 8+ so far; even with my small hands it's not difficult to use...unless I'm trying to take photos of my dog lol.

That’s a stellar price for the iPhone 8 Plus, especially for the 256 GB model. Still a solid device for years to come.

Lack of Zoom view on new phones could be a problem for me as well. I never needed it on my 6S Plus but definitely do on my 8. That’s one reason I returned my X.

Not all apps offer properly increased font sizes. In Zoomed view, not only the icons, but fonts and everything is slightly bigger helping aging eyes more then just increasing font to larger text accessibility mode (which throws everything off in a lot of apps) . It is likely has to do with the higher resolution of the X that it's not available. There is really is NO difference on such a small screen to our eyes to have greater resolution than "retina" resolution, so I guess I will get another 8+ when the price drops...

I’m trying to decide whether or not to go to the Xs or Plus sized phone (Xs+) myself. I’ve been a 7+ user for 2 years and really like the phone but the X sized phone feels so nice in the hand and love the OLED screen. I want to preorder so I have to come to a decision before I can actually hold the new larger phone in my hand.

Everyone knows now the good and bad your getting with the X design, there will be some add software features with the X plus, so it's the size that your comfortable with really.
[doublepost=1535990632][/doublepost]I have been seriously considering getting the new X over the last couple of weeks and have been looking at alot of reviews on the X, I was never happy with notch but i was willing to try to get over it, I use my 8 plus a good bit in landscape mode, especially web browsing, for me looking at the X in landscape for whatever content, it's a disaster, don't care what anyone says, it just looks stupid, it's a pity apple didn't offer people the option of putting a black bar top and bottom as far as the notch, but that would be admitting the X design was not thought through properly, I'm afraid of purchasing the X and ending up disappointed.

My contact is up this month so time for a new phone. I'm having trouble deciding between the X and the 8+. I need a phone with longer battery life my 6s is struggling. I'm also aiming for 256GB because I know 64 isn't enough when my current phone is 128GB.

I want a phone that takes good pictures mostly and has a larger screen than my 6S.
Definitely iPhone X as it has a new physical design, which incoming iPhones will also have. DO NOT choose iPhone 8 Plus as it has 4 years design and its design is OBSOLETE. Get a new one like I and others do. iPhone X is the best iPhone history up to now before it will be retired for its incoming spawns.

The ‘design is obsolete’? How is that advice going to have any impact whatsoever on the use of the phone over the next couple of years? Apple still sell the iPhone 8 and are likely to for some time yet so it’s far from being ‘obsolete’. Apart from the screen and the method for unlocking it it’s essentially the same phone as the X.

Do you think that the Xs Plus (or whatever it will be called) will feature the Zoom option or as for the X 2017, will not be an available option??

Just got rid of my 8+ on Tuesday and got a X best decision ever. The battery on the X actually last longer than my 8+. And i didn't think that i would like it but not having touch id has been amazing. So glad i went with the X
Wow, really. That was the opposite of my experience with the X vs 8+.

For me the X display was a significant problem with pwm flicker giving me eye strain. There were other issues that made me return it for an 8 Plus.

I do miss the length and width of the X but not the weight of it.

I’m not sure but I think I had better call quality on the X than I do on the 8 Plus, though.
Overall I was not overly fond of my X which is why it’s my ex-X. ;)

I don’t know that I would have bought an X now with the XS just around the corner. I hope you got an excellent deal on yours.

you're telling me that you won't be able to use the phone cause the design, in your opinion, is obsolete?

The funny thing is, because I prefer a home button and TouchID, as well as the wider display and grip of the 8 Plus, I actually find the "obsolete" design to be more functional than the X. That's why the previous comment makes no sense. Design preference is completely subjective. Obsolescence is based on function, and since the 8 Plus is internally the same as the X, they will reach obsolescence at the same time.
