I love my iPhone X, but I also like saving $ more than spending on luxuries. The Pixel 2 is on sale for $599. I have time to return my X up until January 2018. FaceID is great, the processor is speedy, the screen is superb, camera is amazing, and the quick charge is nice.

The Pixel 2 has a nice screen, 2 year warranty, dual speakers, the best camera, quick charge out of the box, 4gb RAM, a high end processor, 3 years of updates, water resistance, Google Assistant, a FP sensor, always on display, fastest updates possible, etc.

I had to come out of retirement to compare these devices. The $ would be nice since I don't need the Apple Watch anymore and also save the $ in the difference between the X and Pixel 2. I prefer iOS tbh, but I rather not get a 6S, 7, 8 type of device either. Pixel could do more for me. Thoughts? Thanks. Merry Christmas as well.

Based on your signature, why not sell the 8+, keep the X, and get the Pixel 2 as well? Or, do you like the 8+ better than the X?

I still can't make my mind up between the devices.
I think my problem is I could happily get by with either .so therefore the sensible thing to do would be to keep the Pixel 2 and sell the X and get a tidy bit of cash in my back pocket from it.

But then I pick the X up again and it's just gorgeous. It's the best iPhone ever made in my opinion and I like it better than any iPhone I had before, even the 5C which was always my favourite. I loved me those colours. :D

I am really struggling to commit to one and it's beginning to drive me insane. Every night I tell myself I'll make the decision tomorrow and the next day I get no further forward.

I think if I'm honest with myself, for my personal phone useage the X is the better fit. I have AlrPods which just obviously work better with iPhones. I Instagram a lot (I have two accounts that I run) and live stories are Mich higher quality with iPhone's and I WhatsApp all day. That requires a good typing experience and good emoji haha. The iPhone bests the Pixel in both of those.

Pixel is giving me a better camera and better price. The way I look at it is the Pixel is affordable enough to repurchase on the future if I want. The X is not and likely will not be ever.

You sound so much like me. Every day I tell myself I’m going to make a decision. Every day I don’t. Honestly, the iX is the best phone for me. Covers all my bases aside from customization. But I think there’s something very confining about going with Apple, which is where my hangup is. However, I’m pretty sure I’ll be staying with Apple this phone cycle.

I really do like android but what keeps me coming back to Apple is iMessage. I know that sounds dumb but at the end of the day, I text more than anything, and having a App that meets my needs is a deal breaker. Being able to send high quality photos and videos, FaceTime, and other fun stuff just makes my experience so much better.

No, using two phones would be pointless for me since I want to stick to iOS. Plus it would be rude to sell a gift. I might get the Pixel 3 or 4 at some other point in like 2019. X is too expensive to warrant, especially since I got the 8+.

I'm confused. I thought you had the X and 8+ already.

Technically, yes, I had them both at the same time yesterday night. However, I made my mind up quick that gifted iPhone 8+ > paid for iPhone X. I promptly returned the X to "downgrade" to the 8+. It's barely even a downgrade.

But since I am recommitted to iOS, this will send me back into retirement from posting in this section. Happy New Year's folks. Take care and all the best.

It’s a lateral move, not a downgrade. I have only the highest opinion of the iPhone 8+.
