If it has the same OS, then no I see zero reason to purchase it. There's minimal hardware changes at this point and there's been basically no big software changes in years... sorry but animated emoji's do not count! Unless Apple gets serious about their OS's I see no reason to purchase new hardware for at least 3-5 years at this point.
 
can't wait... The only thing I miss about my 7 plus is the extra screen real estate width-wise, looks like we'll be getting the goodness of the X with the extra screen real estate back. Win- Win

I'm looking forward to this phone. Never complained about the price of an Apple product, I know what it is, do thorough research and if I decide it is worth the price, I buy it upfront.

Exactly. Apple products are expensive and everybody knows that. We already know the future iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, etc. are never going to be priced lower than the competition. Apple always charges a premium, but the end result is a better product, longer support and good customer service.

Off topic: Nice purchase with the Mac Pro. In the U.S., there have been considerable discounts, but a very nice machine indeed.
