So for all of you pre-orderers - what are you looking forward to most about your new iPhone XR?

There's a lot of negativity on threads about the XR, which is cool for those who are disappointed in the device - but I thought I'd create a thread for those who are excited about it!

For me, I'm looking forward to the size and hopefully better feel in hand compared to the bigger phones I'm used to.
The added thickness will also go someway to make it more comfortable hopefully.

I also can't wait for the colours! I ordered yellow and can't wait to see it in person. Be good to start seeing them out in the wild!

:)

I haven’t yet preordered—awaiting reviews—but the size and value (I just can’t get over the idea of paying $1000-plus US for a smartphone) have peaked my interest. I’ve wanted larger screen than me 6s but smaller overall size than the plus models.

The processor, camera upgrade over my 6s, and battery life are all pluses—the LCD screen should be very good.

I guess the colors are fine for those who like the choice, but black is what I used and it won’t make much difference because is the non-clear case I would use.

Wanted bigger screen, have an X, but maybe Max is too big and so Xr hopefully ideal size. Better battery. Camera specs same, has portrait which I do like on my X, although I know it's software, but should be good.

The X has always felt a little skinny from my last iPhones, can't believe that Samsung S9 is even skinnier than X though.

Colour I like, picked red, I'm on IUP so to me it was keep X on £56/month, upgrade to Xr that may/may not like for a year on £43, or get Max on £61. If really don't like Xr can take back, then get Xs or Max.

Would prefer to see and check it first, looking forward to reviews though.

The camera. Also Face ID - every time I go to unlock my phone with pruned hands after washing dishes, I wish I had it!

I upgraded from mint 6S+ to TenR -3 years are enough for any phone for me. Red 64GB and clear case to show it after a lifetime of black Otterbox Defender cases.
I won't pay 1k for any phone and consider the TenR a bargain.

Coming from an 8+:

Pros:
+Bigger screen
+Smaller body
+90 mins more battery life than 8+
+Face ID
+A12
+Gesture controls
+Tap to Wake (Loved this on my X)

Cons:
-No 3D Touch (I use it ALL the time)
-Lower screen resolution, though I'm sure it'll be fine

Really looking forward to it :D

Two things im looking forward to a lot:
1) To not have to deal with the bad performance of the iPhone 6 I'm currently using.
2) A different form factor of iPhone than one of the two that I've been using since 2012.

I am a little nervous about a couple things too:
1) Physical larger size of the Xr, I'm worried I may drop it while using it with one hand
2) It will be the most expensive iPhone I've ever purchased.

Looking forward to larger screen but not a phone the size of plus. I ordered last Friday from Verizon. Replacing my 8. Receiving on launch day. Got black, my usual, 64. Have my Kate Spade cover and a screen protector ready to go. Also got the Kate Spade charm. Will be waiting for our UPS guy. Can’t wait. Just can’t bite off a $1,000 phone. This is my seventh iPhone model. I am an Apple snob.

Main reason for upgrading was the camera. But coming from a 6S, I am also very much looking forward to the sensation of having a bigger screen. Plus battery life and wireless charging!

And, quite astonishingly, I lately found myself trying to exit an app with the new gesture rather than clicking on the home button! This just from playing with a XS in the store for a couple of minutes. Talk about intuitive gesture! Another thing to look forward to.

Amen to this! Xr will be my third long term (not counting the 12 days I had a max before returning) iPhone. I went 4>6>xr and cannot wait for a new phone! My six is missing Siri mic, nfc antenna and is bent (remember that?)

To add to the above, I’m pretty stoked for red. Both my previous phone have been black/sg.

Coming from a 6 with broken GPS.

- Bigger screen
- Battery
- Camera
- All the rest are little things that add up to a BIG upgrade!

More affordable iPhone in different colors than the usual. Bigger screen in the same Plus form factor. Best camera and chip power. The good news about the battery is a big plus, hope it will turn out true as Apple claimed.

Just an OEM working phone. ios12 destroyed my SE along with the battery life.

It feels like I'm using a windows xp computer.

Smaller overall size than my pluses (I’ve been using plus phones since the 6) without going too small.

Faster processor (though likely not a huge difference from 8+)

More seamless look because of the small/uniform bezels

Hopefully somewhat better cellular connectivity

The only thing I’m nervous about at all is whether the camera is actually gonna be as good as the 8+, but I’m expecting it to be better in some ways, even if not quite as good in others. IDK - this is the only thing I’ve really wondered about.

I'm mostly waiting for people to get their hands on the screens, then realize they've been blowing smoke over nothing.

I knew as soon as they released a screen with 326ppi, it was only a matter of time before it turned into another pointless megapixel war. Literally, the only application you would need ludicrously high resolution for is VR, because it would actually make a difference there.
