I went from an iPhone X > iPhone 8. PPI didn't change my experience. Hopefully I have the same can be said when I see this in person! But it's true, I am scared about PPI on a larger phone.
*fingers crossed
326ppi didn't change because it's a bigger phone. It's still 326ppi.

Going from the 6 Plus to a 7, I noticed the drop in PPI and resolution. The screen always looked blurrier to me. I may be more sensitive than some, as I used to do video QC work. The bigger the screen gets, the more obvious a lower PPI becomes for me, considering I hold my phone closer to my face than I hold my iPad (the further the viewing distance, the less obvious the lower PPI becomes).

If the screen were at least 1080p as it is on the Plus phones, I would have gone with an Xr. I would miss the telephoto lens, as I appreciate the optical zoom, but that would be a small sacrifice for the improved battery life and lower price. However I know I couldn’t live with the lower PPI screen especially as the screen itself gets bigger. Just my line of thinking.

Yea good point. I was relating it to my iMac needing a higher PPI for a bigger screen, but that’s because the PPI is considerably lower due to the need for a heck of a lot more pixels to get to a higher PPI. Not worried anymore.

I am angsty and dead set against upgrading etc., but if I can still get at least $200 for my 7+ for trade in this December I will consider a 64gb XR. If not, battery replacement.

I cannot justify paying full price (even though I can do so). The OP made a strong argument for this phone (and listed the specs) and if I can pay less for it, I will consider it. Debating between red and yellow and the thought of FaceID.

I decided on the Xs Max. $100 down payment and the benefits of a really large display won me over.

The Xr, though, is probably the better deal. The only thing I will miss is the extra battery life. I can never have too much battery life and the Xr has it in eXceSs.
