Am I the only one that would prefer a thinner Max?

Might be one of the few that actually uses the Max without a case, but I really like the camera bump.

The max has a nice weight to it I think. It feels solid and premium.

I don’t really care about the camera bump. I care more about the camera and how good the pictures are. I’m looking forward to the wide angle lens.

You are one brave soul.

I am very careful, but stuff happens, accidentally, and you read about it on these forums, where people say, I went case-less....until. I have the apple space grey silicon case on my phone and I dropped the phone once on a hard surface. Thankfully the case did it's job. (But I do have applecare)
I use all my phones without a case.

Yes, accidents happen. I've cracked exactly one screen since 2009 when I started carrying smartphones around. A result of a loud noise going off next to me when getting in the car. I've always blamed the Benadryl I had taken at the time. :)

I've found I've developed situational awareness however. I know where my phone is spatially the majority (if not all) of the time when I have it on me. Like @Relentless Power I don't set my phone down on abrasive surfaces (although if the surface is smooth like a table I won't put anything under it most of the time). At work and home there are business card holders that I use and my phone sits sideways at an angle in front of me when I'm at a desk. It rests on an arm of the couch or my chair whenever I'm not at a desk.

I'm generally not absent-minded when it comes to my phone. I've never left it on top of my car and driven off. That's because I have a routine when getting in and out of the car. Wallet goes here, phones go there. And I am a creature of habit. It's worked for me so far.

I do find that a lot of people who use cases tend to throw their phone around a lot or forget about their phone. The case tends to provide a false sense of security while allowing others not to have to think about their phones. It's a mental process not a lot of people wish to engage in so the case takes care of that for them.

Not everyone, but this theory of mine has been supported in these forums several times in many of the case/caseless threads that pop up here.

I now just use a bumper case from rhyno shield so still get to see the back and isn’t as heavy as normal cases

It does indeed.
I also like the polished steel and the way the chassis curves around the glass, both the front and rear.

Most are apathetic to the bump, some really hate it.
I really like it. It would be a bit plain with it, kind of like the iPhone 2g, 3g/s, 4/s.

I really don’t have a preference on the 3rd camera lens. I don’t think apple will drop the ball in regards to its performance. Remember the iPhone 7, everyone thought it was going to be another boring update, but we got updates on the camera, display, dual speakers, non movable home button and Taptic Engine. It was actually a great update.

Regarding the camera on the iphone 11, I really like the tri camera arrangement. It reminds me of the old cameras from the 60s.
