Wont stop skipping songs.

Hello,

My wife has a Classic IPOD. We just got a Kenwood Car Radio that is plugs into. We will be listening to the IPOD and then we have problems. It will jump to the next song, but not play. Then it keeps going from somg to song until you turn it off. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem.

Thanks
David

Is anyone having problems with their new classic (mine's a 160gb) whereby it suddenly skips to the next song (in the album or playlist) for no reason?

I don't mean skip as in when you go running and the song cuts in and out like on the old discmans, I mean just changes to the next track suddenly. I have checked the songs that it has skipped from in iTunes and they seem fine, aswell upon playing the song again on the iPod, I tried to scrub further into the song and it plays perfectly fine.

So far this has happened about 5 time to me in about 2 days of owning it. I restored twice but still, every once in a while, skip she goes

I know this thread is pretty old, but I took mine into the Apple Store, and they replaced it free of charge after having this problem, I was really impressed.

Did you purchase your IPod from the Apple Store?

I've got the same problem. I own an iPod classic, 120 Gb, and it skips after about 30 to 40% of some tracks or podcasts. Sometimes it even reboots to the Apple screen, and if I'm really lucky, the Apple screen looks completely pixelated with the range of about 4 colors.

This is my exact issue. The reboots took a few weeks to start happening, but the skipping started within the first couple of hours of ownership. Since there isnt an Apple store near me and I bought this wonderful device from their website, they had me send it to them for diagnostics. At least they flipped the bill on that. At any rate, their diagnostics indicated everything was just peachy. They loaded the latest and greatest firmware and other updates, just like I did in my quest for interruption free music. Re-synced with iTunes just now when I got it back...sixth song skipped to the next one. Replayed the sixth song..no issue. Surprise..surprise. No reboots yet since I've only been playing it for a half hour, but I have faith that she wont disappoint and tomorrow at work I'll see some reboots and I'll be back on the phone. Too bad their 15 second diagnostics will never find the issue and having someone there actually listening for a 1/2 hour wont happen. Ah well, a handful of disappointed customers that refuse to follow purchasing their products like the rest of the sheep is just the cost of doing business and it means nothing to them. Now only if Winamp could put out a device.
