These photos are making it much harder for me to decide which new iPods to get. I will limit my self to 2. Which combination would be better?

8GB nano & 16GB touch
or
80GB classic & 8GB touch

I already have a shuffle, an old 8GB nano, and a 30GB 5(.0)G, and I will be keeping all of those.

That's easy - the 80gb classic and 8gb touch.

How many ipods do you really need?

If it was me, I'd keep the shuffle for gym use, sell the nano and 30gb, and then buy the touch and 80gb classic. If you don't need the full 80gb, stick with the 30gb and only get the ipod touch.

Why would you buy both the touch and the classic? It just doesn't sound practical to me. The touch is thinner, but it's otherwise the same size/larger than the classic. I can see getting a shuffle or a nano if you really needed something smaller to carry now and then, but even then I couldn't see myself spending the money on more than one iPod. Correct me if I'm reading you wrong, but here's an idea: consider saving the money, or, even better, give it to charity if you really have so much of it that you can't figure out what to do with it! Personally, I hate having little 'trophies' lying around if they're things that I don't use regularly.

Considering that you already have the older iPods, I would think the decision would come down to whether you want the space of the classic, or the novelty of the touch. The new nanos are really fun and a lot like their larger classic counterparts, so if you asked me I'd say get the touch and the nano.

Wow! That color is orgasmic!!!!!!!

Is the new 80gb thinner/same as the current 30gb? Because the current 30gb is amazingly THIN.

Thanks for the replies, but after going in to my local Apple Store, and seeing the new nanos, I cannot resist. It is impossible to criticize the design when you have held one in your hand. I think I will just get a black one of them, and wait till Christmas to get an iPod touch. My dad can have my old nano.

If u buy a touch, u will also need to have a regular ipod with actual buttons, whether that is a shuffle, nano, or classic is ur dcision. The touch isnt too practical sometimes

I got the silver 80GB too, it's lovely! I went into the Apple store leaning slightly towards the silver but still unsure, but when i saw the silver next to the black, hands down silver won. The black is boring, I liked it with the glossy 5th gen finish more :)

after all this excitement over the new ipods I HAVE GOT TO HAVE ONE. I CANT DECIDE THE CLASSIC IS JUST SOO COOL WITH THE 80GB SO I THINK IM JUST GONNA GET a new nano and then wait for a classic for christmas

i heard, iPod games won't play on the classic? is it true? You see, i have bought a couple for my 5.5... wudn't i be able to play them on the classic?

not impressed at all...

So just wanted to say i have had 3 ipod before - a 1st gen 5gb, a 20gb 4th gen black and white screen and a shuffle which i donated to a friend.
As my music library is really gotten big recently, and i don't like choosing what to take with me i decided to get the iPod Classic 80gb - the apple store in regent street only had the black one in stock so i decided to go with that.

When i got it home it was awesome packaged up - lovely iphone style box and wonderfully packaged. I plugged it in, and os x wouldn't recognise it. So i did a restore and it worked - added some music. Everytime i try to get to the video section on the iPod the screen goes green and the ipod freezes and needs to be reset. The dock connector is very loose and the the clickwheel doesn't register the movements properly. I am not very impressed to be honest.

i am not sure i have much faith in the product after this - this is a new ipod boxed from the apple store :(

About the new GUI, i think it seems okay (havent touched one yet, though). But I don't really see the point of it, I mean if they're gonna split the screen, then I'd rather have "Now Playing" to the right. At least when something is playing, those pictures just seem pointless to me.
