iPod Nano 7th Generation

See I disagree with a lot of people about what the new iPod Nano 7th Gen needs. I don't want a camera... It was only 1.3 Megapixel anyways. what am I going to do with that when i have my iPhone right there beside me? Plus the new iPone is going to have an 8 Megapixel camera with HD recording anyways... Leave the camera out of it! By far the two best things about the iPod Nano 6th Gen is that clip is friggin awesome and the touch screen is great for adding songs to playlist on the go. I also thought it was a little too pricey but oh well.

I though that Apple almost had the perfect iPod Nano with the 6th Gen however they failed at a few things that not only sucked for us as a user but Apple could have made a crap load more money if they included it. What is it you ask? The new iPod Nano 7th gen needs 2 things to make it perfect:

1. BUILT IN WI-FI! This would have made Apple a crap ton of money. Most gyms have wi-fi in their facility. Imagine being in the gym, working out and being able to choose weather you want music from your iPod or..... listening to Pandora, Sirius, XM or whatever app that you listen to music with. Then hearing a song that you like and want on your iPod. Well you should be able to hit the Itunes Store button and buy that sucker.... Cha Ching Itunes. Cash in on that.

2. The second thing the iPod Nano 7th gen should have to make it perfect but doesn't need is more App capability. We Apple freaks have proven ourselves to be addicted to Apps! Make more apps available to the iPod nano, make more money, and keep people happy Apple.

That's all you need to have the perfect iPod Nano, it's not rocket science just make it happen Apple!

Oh yeah P.S. I am such an Apple freak my 18 Month old daughter knows how to ask for "iPhone" or "iPad" whichever one she wants and guess what else she knows how to legitimately use em.. ie only play with her apps, knows how to watch videos, scroll through pictures and I don't even have to help her I just hand her the iPad 2 (with a skin on it of course) and let her go to town. Pretty bad ass huh?

well i think that apple will make many changes, and the reason is that people don't buy the new ipod nano because is crao.
The 7th generation should have
  • Bigger screen
  • click wheel :) (im not sure)
  • more functionality(videio playback,even a camera)
  • maybe bluetooth
That's all i can think right now

wi-fi is a cool idea
give it 32/64gb of storage
make it gen 4 format. Bring wheel back...
Keep it small, light. Love taking one to gym over ipod touch/iphone.

I've heard this before but you are barking up the wrong tree!

There is no way the iPod Nano 6th gen form can do WIFI. The battery would only last a couple of hours if that. It's not gonna happen. What is possible and what you should be asking for is the new Bluetooth version 4. That is low power enough to actually be possible to use for sensors and headphones on a small device without crippling battery life.. It could happen.

The nano can't do apps cause it has a special limited version of IOS and the screen resolution is not standard. Any app like functions have to be specially designed and built in. About all that they could add is a calendar to check days of the month.
If you want WIFI and apps get a Touch!

The 6th generation iPod nano does not have iOS in any shape or form. Its simply an iPod OS made to look like iOS. Nothing more.

Just saying. :p

I stand corrected. It just looks like IOS at this time. Either way it can't run apps.

I can definitely see the new nano getting Bluetooth 4. You're right wi-fi would be awesome but battery life would be pathetic.

bored of the cords twisting together each time I pull them out of my bag. Bluetooth version 4.0, cordless headphone with ear clips. that's fine for me.:p

I actually think the September event will be about iOS 5 and iPhone 5 (maybe iPod Touch also) the nano is fine at the moment

I also just picked one up for $100! Sweet!

The battery already doesn't last that long but I tell you what they can make it a tiny bit more bigger and make the battery a little better. Like I said they could make a fortune off it if people were able to purchase songs over wifi. I wouldn't get an iPod Touch because I have an iPhone and not to mention what I love about the Nano is the fact that it's small and it clips to your clothes. I got an iPhone for apps I want an iPod for music. I hate going to the gym and having an arm band that gets all hot and sweaty and stinky with this big old iPhone in it. I like just clipping the nano to the clothes. Shaking it to shuffle or putting on a playlist and pressing the Sleep/wake button twice to skip songs. Its really light and easy but could be a lot better if they wanted.

I heard rumors that they are coming back with the camera and losing the clip. If that's true than that's going to be crap because like I said I have an iPhone for pictures and videos. I don't want a crappy 1.3 MP camera then not being able to clip it to my clothes. Anyways thanks for your feedback bro.

Sometimes I wonder if Steve Jobs takes ideas from you guys. :)

If that were the case we should have had 32GB capacity back in 2009.

I'm seriously annoyed that 32GB hasn't been added to the nano yet. The format of music on the iTunes Store is larger now, my library of songs rated 4+ stars exceeds the nano capacity by about 3 gigs and it gets larger every week.

I don't want to convert my music to 128kbps AAC, it increases sync times and it really sounds like crap on the nano with mid to high end head phones.

I really don't mind the current designed nano, I love the shuffle so the size is perfect and the touch screen navigation isn't as much of a pain as everyone thinks it is. I too thought the touch screen was a stupid idea until I tried it and it was a breeze..got even better with an arm band.

Only thing I'm really looking for is 32GB capacity, all other features is just icing on the cake.

I agree ;)

My Perfect iPod

Can I just get wifi and a few small apps on this thing? It would be like the perfect iPod for me, with wifi syncing and Spotify, without giving me too many distractions from my music. If they made it slightly larger to make room, I definitely wouldn't mind. If they keep the rest the same and lower the price a bit though, I'll buy one as soon as I can buy one. :) And making it so I could use my own background to compliment my iPad's would be great too. :)

There was a leaked case design of the new nano that had it the same as the 6th but with a camera. I expect a camera. Possibly more apps and bluetooth. Higher res screen would be great. I highly doubt that they will add video support- screens too small and could take customers away from the touch. I'm betting on the camera as the most likely.

can anyone tell me the release date of the 6th gen? I want to get a nano to replace a watch i have that just broke. But I want to wait for the 7th gen.

if i know the date of the release of the 6th gen, I can approximate the release of th 7th, therefore, I can determine whether or not it is justifiable to hold out on purchasing the 6th gen, and wait a little while for the 7th gen. By me doing this, I also justify not having a watch, because when I get the 7th gen ipod nano, it will satisfy me to the point where I won't remember the distraught I have experienced without having a watch.

One more thing, does anyone know if the exact shape is going to change? When the 7th gen comes out, I wonder if I will have to wait for the manufacturers to make wristbands for the 7th gen, because the 6th gen wristbands won't work. I hope they do fit the 7th gen's, that way my aforementioned plan of waiting for the watch will be successful.

Actually now that I think about it, I think the lateral portion of my post will cause much more dilemma than I previously thought. What if the 7th gen won't fit 6th gen wristbands. Then the release date of the 6th gen won't matter; in turn; my initial plan to approximate the 7th gen's release date won't matter. The reason is because I will have to wait for manufacturers to obtain schematics to build their wristbands for the 7th gen.

So basically, I will have to wait for the manufacturers to build wristbands for the 7th gen IN CASE the 6th gen wristbands don't fit the 7th gen. If they do, then I will just have to wait for the 7th gen release date.

So can someone tell me the 6th gen's release date in 2010? Thanks.

missing MAC COMMAND FILE ,invisible NANO

hi ther! been trying for a week to make my NANO appear on MY COMPUTER ,P.C. it seems i need [meta_never_index] a MAC COMMAND FILE,apparently, any help as to where /how to find this means to access my currently useless NANO would be grately apreciated
much obliged peter

so you just want a ipod touch...
no, he wants a Nano - specifically one similar to Gen's 2, 4, 5. not only did they have more of a stick (candybar) design and therefore were much slimmer than the Touch but they all had a flywheel - something the Touch does not have. 2 different machines.
i know where he's coming from because i prefer the stick design myself (having owned a 2 and a 4) and wish they'd go back to it. the newest is too small and because of that always have to clip it on something to avoid losing it which i find annoying.

I put my nano on the small pocket and fits in there perfectly.
