Thought I'd start an international thread given that some in the US have started receiving current generation replacements for their recalled 1st generation nanos. One person from Canada has so far received a current generation replacement. Any more out there?

What's your story line? My repair status (UK) was initiated 12 November, box received 19 November, back with Apple on 21 November, diagnostics ran and issue identified same day. Have been on Step 3 ever since: Produc replacement pending.

Just to let you guys know, I spoke to one of the guys on Apple care line and he said all of the units should be dispatched before feb.

I put in my service requests on the 20th november, just got my box yesterday (21st december) and sent it away the same day. I wonder what happens when they start running out of refurbished 6g nanos? will they dive into the stockpile of older refurbs or just send brand new units

So far, I'm not aware of anyone in the UK getting a 6G nano as a replacement?

My current status is 17th Dec: "Product replacement pending" which I assume is the final stage before sending the replacement.

UK status

I am from UK and returned my ipod nano on 12th November.
Was a 4gb black and worked perfectly but with only about 30 minute battery life.
Service requested : November 12th
Product received : November 16th
Issue identified : November 16th
Product replacement pending : November 16th.

I seem to be one of the first to return and have the problem confirmed but still waiting.

BC, Canada.
Requested service for two nanos November 12.
Empty boxes from Apple (Pennsylvania?) arrived November 14.
Courier picked up both nanos November 16.
Status changed to 'Product replacement pending' on November 23.
Nothing since.

I'm in Canada (Alberta), service request was Nov 12. Today, finally, I got an email from Apple that my replacement nano has shipped. They even included the serial number of the new nano being shipped to me and the SN ends in "....DCMN" which according to my research online is a 6th gen iPod nano. I'm guessing it'll be the 8GB silver but I'll find out when I get it, hopefully this week.

Canada gets it...

Set up my black ipod nano for replacement Nov 12, reached Apple Nov 23rd, been sitting on "replacement pending" ever since.

I got my email yesterday, and my silver, 8 Gb 6th-gen ipod arrived today! Just the nano, no accessories of any kind... not that I expected them.

It registers as having Applecare for a year, and is extendable. Yay!

Thanks Apple! Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah!

:apple:dmz

Still waiting in Australia. My Service request was on the 12th November and has been Product Replacement Pending since 25th November. Come on Apple I miss my iPod.

Seoul, Korea.
Going to send mine in today. IDK how long it would take me though. Will update when I get back.

Markham, Canada. Received silver 6th generation.

Since it was my sister's iPod, she got pretty mad when I told her that there wasn't a click wheel on it. :p

Looks like people in the UK are getting the short end of the stick at the moment. pisses me off a bit that people in the US sent theres off and received a new unit way after I was already on "Product replacement pending" and i'm still waiting!

Hello... Where can I check these steps?

At the bottom of the product replacement request email you received from Apple when you made your initial request there should be a link that you can click and takes you straight to the job sheet. That same email also gives you the 'repair' ID

I’m from Turkey. I send my Nano to Apple by service in Istanbul. So I have no an email or case, repair ID. I have only serial number of my nano.

Italy

Pending from 15 december....

I've read that for the europe market they will ship regenerated iPod Nano 2nd gen, and the 6 gen. will be only for the US and Canada market.

I really hope that this speculation will be not real!!!!!!!!!

I really hope...same peoples said that in europe the 2nd gen iPod sell more and more than in the US, and for this reason they will make this difference.

They also said that the costs for a battery regeneration will be approximately 3 euro and the cost for a 6th gen iPod in 22 euro and for this reason they will prefer the first step....

I really don't know if this speculation is true and i don't know if the person who said this has real information....

Anyway we will wait!!!!

Sorry, can't help you if you are going through an authorised reseller (presumably?). Maybe contact them because they'd have a repair ID to give you
