Waiting, and waiting......... and waiting

Sent mine off on the 17th of November. Still on product replacement pending. I've called them several times and they have noting to update me on. Ah man, this is the only iPod i really use.

Sent: 14th December, recieved: 24th December, replacement just arrived this morning, on the final day before I leave the country. In the nick of time! Now need to grab a watchband for it...

This Friday is the 6th week since its been on pending. It only took them to fix but I guess I've been playing the waiting game like everyone else.

I'm not that desperate for it but it's a new product, what's not to like. :D

Got my email today saying my replacement was shipped. they received mine Jan 17th.

I looked up the new serial number.

8gb silver, manufactured 1st week of February.

So it is literally brand new.

How do you check serial numbers? I've only been to check on the check a warranty page which says the 6th gen but no other info besides expired call help etc...

I've talking with AASP in el salvador since November. Actually never had a case number and today I was told that maybe on monday ill get mine. No clues whether is a 6th gen. Very likely. Also not a clue if it's brand new or refurbish. Tell u monday, hopefully.

It was shipped to me two weeks ago, the oberall process it now 8 weeks. No sign of my iPod, the tracking number isn't valid and none of my three calls to Apple were able to help me...

Holy MacRumors, any advice?

Mine is finally on its way (UK) :)

Service requested 23 December, iPod received/replacement pending 4 January, Sent 15 February.

Should be here later this morning, and it looks like it's the usual 8GB silver one.

According to the serial number it was refurbished in California in the 2nd week of January.

I got an email a few weeks back saying it had been shipped, telling me it should take 3 days, and giving me a tracking number. After two weeks of trying to track the number with UPS, DHL, TNT, postal service etc and no luck, I decided to call apple. The rep there was very friendly, but told me that the email was completely wrong because they shipped out the replacements with regular mail, with no tracking numbers. Guess they just use the same email for everything.

Where is that you are reporting from @Alinoe?

From UK:

Called today as it has been 6 weeks since apple received my 1st gen nano.

According to the guy...'they were expecting around 750,000 but so far ended up with over 1 million. Wait time has been extended to eight weeks and will be sending out new nano's.'

Not sure if new means retail new or what but that's what the guy said.

One more account for you guys ... Manchester, UK:

Service requested December 27th
Device sent to Apple January 8th (sent to office, I'd only just returned from the christmas break)
Received by Apple January 10th
Replacement shipped February 29th
Replacement delivered March 2nd :)

Though I don't live in the UK anymore, so a friend in the office is sending it over to China for me. Nearly perfect timing, since i've just joined a local Gym and don't want to use my phone for music.
