I'm from Canada. Hope it gets here soon! :D

Anyone from New Zealand had any word on their replacement yet? I sent mine away before christmas last year and they still haven't even acknowledged receipt of it. I am wondering if there is a big stash of iPods collecting in Auckland or something waiting to be shipped out in one hit. I don't know if I ought to be contacting Apple yet or not. My original request was over two months ago now and I am sure I read somewhere that you had to send the iPod in within four weeks of them sending out the box or you would have to restart the process. Kind of difficult to do without having the iPod in my possession

I got an email from them and update to my status! they finally have the iPod marked down s received and replacement pending. I can relax about it now. It pretty much took 5 weeks from my sending the parcel back for them to receive. Must have gone the paddle boat up the congo, camels across the desert and elephants across the Pyrenees route

Excellent. Hope mines soon :D

I'm in Norway. Requested service january 2, sendt it inn a few days later, it's been on "product placement pending" since january 19th.

I'm curious if anyone's sent in an iPod that doesn't work anymore, and received a replacement.

For me, they didn't care if my iPod wasn't working or not. As long as it was eligible and the right model, anyone can send it in. It really depends on the policy in your country

From Singapore here. Sent in my ipod nano before christmas. just received a call from them that i will be getting a new ipod nano 6th gen in a few days! woohoo:eek:

I sent one in that had a broken screen, bent back casing, water dammage, and would make a static buzzing when plugged in and would not play music anymore. They sent me a fully functioning 6th gen that is working great in my car right now!

I got an emai jan 15th that they were sending an empty box. I still have not received it. How can I send in my nano for replacement. Im in Germany by the way.

This week's Saturday will be exactly 6 weeks for me.
Not a single word about replacement shipped. Yet.

Maybe you misread. I haven't gotten an upgrade, I haven't gotten anything, not even an email saying the diagnosing process has begun, never mind an email about one being shipped.

I like your username. I guess you registered just to post about the issues you had. How about you give apple a call instead of whining on macrumors?

F you'd read, you see you're nt the only one in this position (I am). Aside from ringing them, there's nothing you can (or I) do

So I am in Canada, I requested service for the recall on Nov 22. It took one month to the day to get a box to send the iPod back. Of course then Christmas happened. According to the tracking number the box was signed for by Andre in the first week of Jan. Jan 17 repair status updated saying product received, it has now said replacement pending since Jan 18. Can it really take this long to put a new one in a box and ship it, as they are apparently doing? I understand that this is a huge undertaking but, really? I must admit that due to the service I've gotten, as well as some other people I know have gotten in the past, among other issues, I'll likely never give crApple any of my money ever again.

I applied on the first day in mid-November and box/packaging never arrived. Not that I was in much hurry but I gave them a bell on Jan 5th, and packaging arrived the next day. Been stuck on 'Product replacement pending' since the 10th so looking relatively good so far.

Anyway, make some noise in the right direction and the right people might hear you. i.e. give them a call. Simple.

Don't see what your fuss is about tbh; just be patient.

So horrible of them to upgrade you for nothing.

They're not doing it out of the goodness of the heart, they've recalled them because they supplied a potentially dangerous product.

Now, they don't have to replace them with the newer model, they could refurb the returned nanos and use those as replacements, but I'm guessing its simpler and quicker (and so cheaper) for them to send out the newer ones.

Maybe the reason people are getting impatient is because they've spent their hard-earned money on a product they haven't got at the moment.

Maybe apple should use some of the huge stockpile of cash they have and hire some more temporary staff to speed up the process.
